I love to PCS and move, I’ve moved more than 40 times in my life, across town, across country, or overseas. I love new places. Sometimes they aren’t that much fun, like Maryland or Augusta. This place has tons of potential. Turns out the house is only a few blocks from the lake.
I’ll have to find a dog friendly beach for Jelly and Bella. The lab loves water as you’d expect one to. No reserve just straight off into it until her feet can’t touch.

irreverentI’d be surprised if all the beaches there aren’t dog friendly, to be honest.

newtoSig765Check hazard warnings before swimming in Lake Michigan, known for weird currents. I lost a friend many years ago who fell off a boat very near shore and wasn't found for over a month.

92fstechThe Great Lakes are a national treasure. One of the most amazing features in this part of the country. I've never been to the western shore, but the southern and eastern side in Indiana and Michigan has some awesome beaches and huge dunes. The farther north you go the cleaner and nicer it gets, too. I proposed to my wife on the beach at the Indiana dunes, because she loves the beach and the ocean, that was the closest I could get without driving for a day lol.

Parents had some friends that had a cottage on the beach on lake Erie.
They always had a spotter on the beach. Being a bunch of kids swimming and not paying attention, the currents would move us down the beach and we wouldn't notice.
The spotter would call us back.
So, if you go in the water on a big lake like that,
Have someone watching from the beach.

armoredIf your in the mood for a drive try Port Washington, about 1 hour from you.
Very scenic, great restaurants, and a State Park on the lake with a nice dog beach.
