This is how quantum computers are commonly described in media pop science articles, but it isn't actually true. Quantum computers are substantially less computationally powerful than this statement would indicate.

maladatI don't know that there IS a good nontechnical way to explain how quantum computers actually work.
I just worry about the portrayal that I see in the media, which seems to be either "quantum computers can solve any problem instantly!" (unreasonable positive expectations) or "quantum computers mean the banking system is as safe as leaving all your cash in a pile in the middle of the street!" (unreasonable negative expectations).
