Now this is an extraordinary and generous offer!
Sadly my only time in Alaska was on the tarmac and in the terminal when our plane landed to pick up a few PAX. And although I'd love to visit for "real," health issues preclude any chance of that.

sjtillI've been to Alaska twice. Once in 1981 with some friends, we had planned to do river rafting but rivers were flooded. We borrowed a friend's VW bus, drove Anchorage to Denali (they were actually changing the park sign when we got there), over to Valdez and back.
The scenery was breathtaking, everywhere.
The second trip was an inside passage cruise. Compared with driving through the countryside, it was not that impressive, even though we had a veranda room. Of course it was raining cats and dogs in Ketchikan and Sitka. Like other cruises, these towns live on (and off) the cruise tourists, like Cozimel. I wouldn't do that trip again, but would do a fly/drive/get a bush plane ride in a heartbeat.

Saw -82*F with chillfactor of -127*F while testing a new night vision system . Would love to go back summer or winter. corsairOh how I miss Moose's Tooth Pizza in Anchorage. Best non-Italian pizza I'd ever eaten.
And the rest of the state is pretty spectacular too.

Try Gwennie's in Spenard for their Reindeer omelette.

(That's a 20oz Diet Coke)
It's a great pit stop that lots of the tours make.
