Thought I just give this company a good review. I have ordered many times in the past from MidwayUSA with great success. During this time of Covid-19 event, a lot of on-line vendors have been experiencing delayed shipping (which is understandable).

About 2 hours ago, I placed an order (3 items) for my Mossberg 930 spx. I just received a shipping notification tracking number via UPS. That is really fast.

Update 08/30:

I guess I got lucky. Package just got delivered, on a Sunday. Five days after I placed the order. Not bad at all. (Waiting for some more parts from GG&G for my project. That package has not even processed. Ordered the same day).

I like Midway too, but I have to disagree with the OP about the shipping. They do get your order out the door reasonably quickly, but have the annoying habit of shipping UPS -> USPS "SurePost" for final delivery. UPS does its part just fine, but the Postal Service screws the pooch at least half the time resulting in multi-day delays. A recent order went through my regional USPS hub three separate times before it finally got routed to my local PO, then my carrier decided to quit early that day (it was hot, I'll give him that), then it sat in his truck all night, then didn't actually get into my mailbox until after 8:00PM the next day.

At least the USPS doesn't usually lie about final delivery the way UPS and FedEx routinely do, e.g. getting he "package delivered" notification, but the package does not actually get dropped until hours later.

I've found that you can eliminate the SurePost thing by including ammo in your order. The post office can't handle ammo and it's not cost effective for Midway to ship a 20 or 50 round box of ammo via UPS so the whole order comes UPS.

About a six weeks ago I placed an order for a set of Carlson's choke tubes. (Same 930 spx except with a 28" barrel added for bird hunting. The idea was to do some skeet hunting with my daughter over July 4th weekend.

Like you, I received a quick notice with UPS tracking number. It went downhill from there. Upon entering the tracking number in UPS' website (less than 12 hours after placing the order) , it showed the package was delivered four months prior and to Florida (I'm in California).

Nothing Midway would/could do until 10 days AFTER the original estimated delivery date. So, I had to wait until 29 June to call back to Midway and, they weren't about to ship overnight (or second day air) at their expense to make a promised deliver by date.

From what Midway described, UPS' tracking system has begun reusing numbers and; between that and handing off to USPS (without tracking capabilities as the two systems do not cross over), the thought is my choke tubes were sent to Florida.

I recommend looking up your tracking number now and see if the package's destination is your place.

I do similar to others, a box of ammo, minimum, with every order. Wink

Joe Bob Outfitters has the fastest shipping I’ve ever seen, it’s better than MidwayUSA and I’ve ordered quite a bit from both

Yes: Horrible, and they don’t make it easy to select (and pay for) alternative methods. I wanted UPS for a recent order and thought I’d selected that method, but when I got the final invoice the shipping was “free” because of that stupid SurePost thing. I like Midway in general, but they need to dump that method entirely, or at least make clear what free shipping may mean: “Warning, by selecting free shipping, you may not receive your order for weeks because the inefficiency—not to mention incompetence—of the two carriers involved.”

Uh-oh. I surely saw a “Surepost” as part of my tracking. I hope it is not going to be bad for my package.

MidwayUSA and fast shipping may belong together, but getting-it-fast and Midway don't. I ordered a couple of Glock mags and they shipped the next day. Then it took two weeks to get to my mailbox.

Ha good luck with that.

My order of a shotgun follower took 18 days to get to central Texas

They had me a tracking number w/i a few hours but the item was stuck in Portland airport for almost two weeks

I will chime with Sure Post sux. Midway will often say an item qualifies for free shipping then they hand it to Sure Post. Your skeletal remains then gets the package a couple of weeks later.
I used to use Midway frequently but now only as a last resort. I complained several times to their Customer Service Reps about Sure Post but it went nowhere.

Can someone please give me idea on how that "Surepost" work?

So they ship it via UPS. Someone else do the delivery and NOT actually UPS?

I don't recall Surepost on my previous orders. Maybe I just didn't pay attention.

yes.....usually I sing praises to Midway USA.

But not recently. They must have furloughed the entire workforce.

Ordered some reloading supplies, powder, primers, bushings and the like.....when it arrived, the box was torn all to hell. Big gaping whole in the bottom on the seam due to the fact that it had been packed and wrapped very poorly. Miraculously, only one bushing was missing but I received some items that I didn't order (which I need to karma here at SF btw).

Sent customer service an email because they wouldn't accept phone calls. Took nearly two weeks to get a response. In that time, I had already re-ordered and received the missing bushing. In the end, they just gave me credit and let me keep the S&W springs I didn't ask for.

I have since bought a few things from MidSouth Shooters Supply out of Tennessee and am extremely pleased. Their prices for powder bushings are nearly 50% less and the shipping was spot one (only delayed a couple of days) and secure.

What you got, was an email saying a label had been printed. It doesn't mean they shipped anything.

AFAIK, Midway uses UPS to deliver the package to your post office. The USPS does the rest.

If Midway gave you a UPS tracking number, that may only reflect its delivery to the PO.
