Today our Governor drove another stake into progressive hearts all across Iowa. She signed a bill into law banning males from competing in women's sports. In order to compete in female sports the athlete's birth certificate must show female as the gender. The bill was signed into law within hours of reaching her desk. I am just afraid we may lose this treasure of a Governor to National politics before too long. I suppose that would be to the benefit of the nation but selfishly would like to keep her within our state's government.

Outstanding! If you’re pissing off the communists, progressive assholes and marxist losers you’re doing something right.

There is a Spanish girl (not gender confused) who is getting her second shot in the intermediate league of motorcycle racing against the guys. She is already a champion against them at a lower level of racing. Coming back from a scary injury (broken back) to try again against a hyper competitive male field is ACTUAL bravery. She is one step away from the majors. THAT is more noteworthy than any of these gender confused attention whores.

Why isn’t the left celebrating Ana Carrasco’s story?

Good job to Iowa, you've done good for your young women. In a sane world, a law like this shouldn't be required.

Its been a good week for good governors. When the Biden administration asked for National Guard troops for the SOTU address, Governor DeSantis said 'Nope' not this time. Given how the Florida National Guard was treated the last time they were sent to DC for essentially a photo op, DeSantis kept them home this time. I'm sure that chapped Slo Joe's diapered ass.

What about the whole - California changes birth certificates because of "equality"?

How does Iowa define the certificate?

I really have no idea how a changed/misrepresented birth certificate would be dealt with. In my opinion a DNA test which showed you were XY would suffice. That would put everything to rest and take falsified birth certificates out of the picture. Y chromosome and you are male, end of discussion with finality.

I’d sure like to trade Governors. Hopefully next Fall we can start over. A strong Republican majority in the State houses is the only thing keeping ours in check.

Like Stickman said - I have a tremendous amount of respect for actual females that have the courage to compete in men's leagues. In high school the women's track division did not have pole vaulting. We had a female vaulter on our men's team that was clearing 13' as a sophmore. Since she was officially on the men's team, she also ran the 300 low hurdles and was fairly competitive.

As far as transgender males competing in female sports - it's a travesty that has cost a lot of great female athletes recognition, scholarships, championships, etc. Ultimately it will be up to them the impact change on this topic. In some team sports, this message can be sent easily.(hockey, soccer, etc.)

I suspect she's up for replacing Grssley if he ever retires/passes. I can also see her as a Veep candidate down the line(DeSantis/Reynolds?) and a possible presidential contender later on.

Who can predict. Chuck has already announced he'll run for another Senate term in November, he's now 88 (same age as Diane Feinstein).

Gov Reynolds (age 62) is probably running again in Nov, I'm not sure if she can appoint herself when Chuck retires or dies.

‘Special event’ could be Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds’ re-election announcement

Next week’s rally in Des Moines may be when Reynolds makes her re-election bid official

DES MOINES — Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds’ campaign arm is planning a “special event” that could be the official kickoff of her re-election campaign.

The Reynolds campaign announced Friday it will hold a rally Wednesday at the Iowa State Fairgrounds. The announcement does not say what Reynolds will talk about at the event.

Reynolds, a Republican, is up for re-election this fall. She has not yet officially announced her desire to seek another four years as Iowa governor, but is widely expected to do so.

Reynolds became governor in 2017, when she was promoted from lieutenant governor after former Gov. Terry Branstad was named U.S. ambassador to China. Reynolds won a full four-year term in 2018 by 3 percent over Democratic candidate Fred Hubbell.

Hubbell in 2018 emerged from a five-way Democratic primary. This year, Democrats have just one active candidate: Deidre DeJear, a Des Moines businesswoman who ran for Iowa secretary of state in 2018.

Three prominent national political forecasting websites — Sabato’s Crystal Ball, the Cook Political Report and Inside Elections — all rate Iowa’s 2022 race for governor as safe or solid Republican.

Reynolds’ campaign raised nearly $3.8 million in 2021 and finished the year with nearly $4.8 million in her campaign account, according to state campaign finance records. The Reynolds campaign claimed both are state campaign fundraising records.

DeJear raised just $280,000 and finished the year with only $8,500 in her campaign account.

Wednesday’s event is scheduled to be held at the fairgrounds’ Elwell Family Food Center. Doors open at 5 p.m. People wishing to attend can RSVP at reynoldstour.com.

You guys have enough balls and votes in the house/senate to over ride a veto? Something as important as this legislation should be jammed right down that governor's throat.

Fantastic. Pussy ass Republicans like Cox need to wake the hell up. Yeah low taxes and better gun laws are great, but the real fight today is the cultural fight. Furthermore, culture battles like this insane crap with men competing in women's sports are how we win future election. Youngkin in Virginia proved that.

So Cox, go ahead and fuck off now. The true conservatives in this State will fix your mess for you. Jerk.

I’m happy for Utah. As a father of three amazing girls I am furious at progressives and their war against women’s sports. Dudes pretending to be girls to get a competitive advantage is pathetic.

Bravo Utah legislature for pushing back! Cool
