What's all this "young man" horse shit? Just state the Goddamned facts.
Headline of the linked article says "Young Man." Body of the article says that the deceased was 22 years old.
I agree with you; headline would have been better if it had said "Home Invader" instead of "Young Man."
The term "young man" is used four separate times in that article.
I did not read it carefully, I just glanced at the headline and the first paragraph. It should have said "home invader," or "criminal," or something similar.
Given that the 22-year-old was a young man, at least from my 82 year perspective, what difference does it make whether he was young, middle-aged, or old? What has his age got to do with the fact that he forced his way into a home and was rewarded properly? A turd is a turd, no matter what its age is. Crappy reporting.

SigmundThis has a few more details and a photo of the dead guy. It does not specify if the door was open or closed.
Yes, alcohol was involved.

CRESCENT TWP. — A 22-year-old Hopewell Township man was killed early Tuesday after he tried to force his way into a Crescent Township house and was shot by the homeowner.
Corey Laguardia was identified as the shooting victim by the Allegheny County medical examiner’s office. Laguardia was a 2015 Moon Area High School graduate, who played baseball and football, and listed on his Facebook page that he worked as a building engineer for U.S. Steel.
Friends took to social media Tuesday to mourn Laguardia, with one female friend posting that she was “excited to see where life would take us, you had an amazing future ahead of you and you have an amazing family.”
Crescent police referred questions about the shooting to Allegheny County police, who released a statement saying township officers and paramedics were sent to a house in the 1000 block of Starr Road shortly after midnight for a man who had been shot while forcing his way into a home.
Laguardia was found dead in the doorway of the house. Police said the 59-year-old homeowner remained at the scene.
County police would only say that Laguardia had gone to the home looking for someone, but the homeowner told him he had the wrong house and shut and locked the door. Laguardia, though, tried to force his way in, and the homeowner opened fire with his handgun.
WPXI-TV, citing police, reported that
Laguardia had been out drinking and gotten dropped off in the area by a friend and went to the house because he thought a girl that he knew lived there. The station also reported that Laguardia began kicking the door trying to get in while the homeowner was on the phone with 911.
Allegheny police would not confirm those reports.
County homicide detectives are investigating the case, and no charges have been filed against the homeowner. Anyone with information on the case is asked to call Allegheny County police at 833-255-8477.

At least they’re no longer calling him a young man, although I fail to see what any of the filler material in the update has to do with anything. Who cares where he works, what he did in high school, or how exciting a future his acquaintances thought he would have.

No, but they are claiming the dead break-in attempt guy is the victim and not the 59 year-old who must not deal with the result's of the dead guy's actions.
