sourdough44Good news for a change! Judge tells prosecutor to pound sand in Rittenhouse case
Don’t mean to get ahead of the trial, but is this going to go the ‘Nick Sandman’ route? I can see the Kyle defense team going after a handful of entities when this this over.
I’d say some media outlets & possibly the prosecutor’s office/Kenosha for starters.
Look at the mayhem cause by various riots in the last 18 months. He’s one who fought back & is prosecuted, much higher coverage level than any lefty doing crime.

ZSMICHAELChicago Police Department cancels days off, bracing for Rittenhouse verdict
CHICAGO — Chicago police appear to be bracing for a verdict in the Kyle Rittenhouse trial, according to the city’s largest police union.
The Chicago Police Department canceled regularly scheduled days off starting Friday and through the weekend. An internal memo sent to rank and file officers does not mention the Rittenhouse trial.
Pathologist testifies Rittenhouse shot first man at close range as prosecution rests
However, the Fraternal Order of Police made the connection, saying the move is possibly in anticipation of civil unrest, if Rittenhouse is acquitted.
The FOP accuses the city of violating a mediation settlement by failing to provide notice to officers before canceling their days off.
The trial continues on Wednesday.

sdyI think the guy who posted about "regret not emptying my mag into Rittenhouse" is scheduled to testify today.
Defense served him a subpoena and he lit out of the courtroom (Monday ? losing track of days)
Also think the one subpoenaed is Gaige Grosskreutz's roommate who was quoting Grosskreutz
Defense got Grosskreutz to testify "he had no regrets"

220-9erIf there is more rioting or civil unrest ( the media term for rioting), CNN and others share in the responsibility.
When you read their trial coverage articles, you can understand how the less informed think a not guilty verdict could be unfair.
They whitewash the testimony of the prosecution witnesses making the case for self-defense and no mention of several of the witnesses lying to cover their own misdeeds.
I thought the defense team has done a great job turning the accusers into defense witnesses.
Day 2 today for the defense but I wonder how much more they feel the need to cover the bases.
One other interesting tidbit, the Antifa crowd has apparently been photographing the jury members as the leave the courthouse and also had some inside in the spectator area in a clear attempt at jury intimidation.
Lets see if ADA Binger brings charges against them or if the Fed's in that area are competent and independent enough to bring charges. I'm not holding my breath.

ShaqlOh. My. God. They are calling Rittenhouse to the stand.
This is about to get crazy.

dewhorseSo far the case has verified what most (all) of were thinking....it was self defense. I was watching live that night and saw Kyle say he was there to render first aid...to whomever was hurt...I also saw the first corpse ...,mr. unstable pedo, act like a violent ass....
I am just hoping that the jury has the intestinal fortitude to give the right verdict and if not the judge does the right thing by setting the verdict aside.
If either one of the above happens...especially the latter buckle up, and if you are near a large metro area...time to step up PERSEC

stoic-oneNot sure about this defense strategy, I sincerely hope they have Kyle coached up for this. Seems like the defense has more to lose than to gain.
If he holds his own under cross, that would seal the deal, if not, well...

I'm a bit confused by this, myself.
Doesn't the defense normally
avoid putting their defendant upon the stand unless they feel they
have to?
From what I've been reading here, the prosecution all but made defense's case for them, and defense's witnesses essentially nailed it down?
What would defense gain by putting their client on the stand at this point?

KeystonerI'm at work and the only account of Kyle's testimony I care to read is from here. Hoping for a play-by-play. Thanks!

ZSMICHAELApparently the defense attorneys feel that he will handle it well. He is intelligent and rather eloquent for an 18 year old. Will see...

corsairVery curious why they would call on Rittenhouse.
I would hope, they're confident that he's able to withstand the withering incoming fire that he's going to get because they can drag him through questioning for the next few days if they so wanted to.
Will be interesting to see how the judge handles emotional statements by the prosecution, leading questions and has to cut-off the questioning due to being out-of-line or, not applicable to the case.

ShaqlIf he can handle the cross like he did his situation, he'll be fine.
Right now they're discussing his giving his body armor away and getting on-site.

ensigmaticHave already seen one reason: He just rebutted testimony from the dealership owner, from what I've read here.

Rick LeeIsn't the usual reason for not letting the defendant on the stand to avoid his getting asked if he did it? That's not really an issue in this case. But I agree with the others that the defense doesn't need anymore help. They should rest or run with what they already have.

Skull LeaderWell, I guess we know now why Kyle got a haircut over the weekend.
I'm still trying to wrap my head around why the car lot guys don't want to admit that their losses were higher than they were.
Can anybody explain?

Balzé HalzéKyle breaking down on the stand when they got to where he was being chased really lifted the veil covering this bullshit case. That was raw emotion. I couldn't help but be affected by it.

ensigmaticGeez, could the State have chosen a shadier-looking prosecutor?
Whoa! Judge just slams the prosecution!
