Didn't see the gun but changed his tune abruptly when he saw the empty holster.

Several years ago, my wife and I were going out to dinner. We were getting ready to pull into the parking lot as a car was pulling out. It was a wide driveway, but this guy was eating up more than just the center. My wife said something about his driving abilities, (the windows were up so there is no way he could have heard anything she said) and we pulled into the lot, stopped while looking for a parking space. Wife then tells me that the guy is backing up, and as we pulled into a parking space he stops behind us and gets out. Runs up to the driver's window and starts yelling that he had the right of way etc. I told him a couple of times "sir you need to get back in your car" and had my hand on my pistol but didn't draw. After a second or two he apparently realized my right hand was not on the steering wheel and he took off.

The stories in this thread just go to show that just by having a CCW prevents more crimes that get reported.

My only close call was not actually CCW related. It was when I was awakened from a dead sleep by someone trying to enter my home. Beyond stressful. Perhaps I'll take the time to post it. I would be interested in what the group thinks about my actions, tactics and thought process when standing in my boxers with a gun in my hand at 3:00 in the morning.

Have many times overseas as a no nothing civilian.

In the States, never even gotten close for humans.

The last time I had to draw was last fall, fly fishing the North Fork of the Flathead river, when this big fat mamma of a grizzly came down the mountain with her two cubs. Maybe 50ft at the most? She looked at us and just plopped down in the water, spread eagle, while the cubs just splashed around. We were in awe. One of the most beautiful things I have seen.

Hopefully your gun wasn't loaded with blanks!

The car in front of me would not go so I honked once. I watched the driver and passenger look back at me then look around then they both got out. I drew both my guns and displayed them on top of my dash and they got back in their car and took off.

Not CCW but did once in my house to a guest who refused to leave.

Little brother, who was gay (he has since passed away) brought a friend over for dinner. Friend was in Navy (I’m retired). Some friendly bantering about each of our jobs which rubbed my wife the wrong way then, dinner.

After eating we retire to the living room which has a smaller hand made cross and our Bibles. Friend starts going off in a very antichrist vernacular and would not accept it was pissing me off and my wife even more so.

After more than a few hints it was time for them to leave and my brother trying to get his friend to understand too, I momentarily excused myself and came back with a loaded P90DC behind my leg.

Told my brother in no uncertain terms, it was time for them to leave, now. Friend made a "why" question and my brother explain that I would make him, my brother, clean up the friend’s brain matter, blood, and fix any damage.

brother said he never saw that "friend" again.

Airsoft Guy has that situation pretty well covered. Lose the boxers and make sure that the gun in your hand is a pump action shotgun.

Quite a few years back, while driving my pristine 69 Camaro Z28 in an unfamiliar town on the way to a car cruise. Several young un's on a street corner apparently thought it might look better in their driveway than mine. I sensed what was about to go down when 2 of them stopped in front of the car and another began approaching the driver door, I displayed my 1911 at which point they decided to continue crossing the street rather more rapidly than before.
