On June 30, 2015, I saw a thought by someone who wanted to encourage, in his own way, Donald Trump in his run for the presidency.

Although he also wrote that his cat had more of a real chance, he thought Trump should be encouraged nonetheless writing,

"When I was younger- and to an extent still- I was the guy who would speak up about the elephant in the room. I could not understand- and to an extent still do not- why no one else would say "There's an elephant in the room." Perhaps it was the efforts of my father to instill in me a strong sense of right and wrong, and to speak up- to speak up when I saw something I thought to be wrong, and the consequences be damned.

Cowards proceed with caution and the just man says 'consequences be damned', right, dad? Para is that guy. Donald Trump is that guy, at last he is when he's lambasting the established political order in this country. The world needs people like me and the Donald, so, even though you don't need my encouragement, Mr. Trump, I say go get 'em, tiger. Make 'em regret even getting out of bed in the morning.

Months and months later, we are here. Thank you Para for your efforts to keep this thread on task at such an important time for many of us and for our nation.

Thank you to all the contributors as well. There has been so much honesty, humor, joy, humility, bragging and so many other things that have made this election more real from a cross section of our nation than I have ever had the fortune to experience.

There is a lot to do now and I'm starting with Grand Marnier and toasting with my wife as we listen to the last of Trump's victory speech.

Oh my God, playing the 'Stones, "You can't always get what you want." in the hall right now. I wonder if that was dedicated to Hillary?

Playing that song was genius. I hope it is playing loudly in the liberals dreams tonight.

Exactly my thoughts. He is thanking his people individually and by name.
It looks like he is making his SS guys a little nervous working the crowd.

DJT's play this ever since the RNC convention. It pissed off the Ryan's and the Pansey Graham's. And the geriatric center from the UK known as the Rolling Stones.

They don't think it be like it is, but it do.
