If I'm able to resist following early returns on election day, I may just go to bed and listen for fireworks. If I hear them, I hope they aren't "Dewey Beats Truman" celebration.

Hope you have a successful hunt.

I can hardly wait until tomorrow to see what kind of information suddenly falls out of the sky. It should be a very interesting day.

I agree with this ^^^^^. I somehow believe that there may well be some more "interesting information" surface the day before the election. I will continue to keep my hopes high for a Trump victory!!

too bad the wikileaks didn't get wider coverage

These are emails from Doug Band (a major Clinton Foundation figure)

http://www.zerohedge.com/news/...oney-pay-her-wedding

cvc = Chelsea Clinton

wjc = Bill Clinton

terry@tdmca = terry McAuliffe

cgi = Clinton Global Initiative

Jan 4, 2012 4:43pm Doug Band wrote

I just received a call from a close friend of wjcs who said that cvc told one of the bush 43 kids that she is conducting an internal investigation of money within the foundation from cgi to the foundation

the bush kid then told someone else who then told an operative within the republican party

Not smart

Jan 4, 2012 5:00pm John Podesta wrote back to Doug Band (copying McAuliffe and Cheryl Mills)

I learned from the best

The investigation into her getting paid for campaigning, using foundation resources for her wedding and life for a decade, taxes on money from her parents...

I hope that you will speak to her and end this

Once we go down this road ...

Who is Huma Abedin and how does she figure into Hillary's past and future?

This article is too long to paste here but I found it to be a most interesting read. There's no doubt that she and Hillary have become inseparable over the past decade, with most who follow politics and gossip conceding that the relationship is likely more than just professional. I found her background a bit surprising but also exactly what I'd expect from Hillary Clinton:

Like a train wreck, I'll be watching the results until it's final. After having invested this much time and energy on the topic, I can't just walk away and not watch the action at the very height of it all, and even if it doesn't go our way I want to see it through to the end.

I hope to see a decisive skunking (10%+) that elicits multiple meltdowns or denials by numerous pundits and "journalists", as that would be rich hilarity, but I'll settle for a simple win. I expect all manner of denials and bullshit throughout. Reality TV ain't got shit on this...

For those interested, Trump has arrived in Minneapolis and Trump One has just now made it to the hangar (this rally is at the airport.)

FBI Director James B. Comey notified key members of Congress Sunday afternoon that after reviewing all of the newly discovered Hillary Clinton emails the agency stands by its original findings against recommending charges.

Comey wrote that investigators had worked “around the clock” to review all the emails found on a device used by former congressman Anthony Weiner that had been sent to or from Clinton and that “we have not changed our conclusions expressed in July.”

Jake Tapper of CNN read the latest ltr from Comey to Congress.

Comey wrote that the FBI reviewed all emails on the device to/from Hillary Clinton and found no reason to change the July recommendation.

Remember back in July, Obama was flying w Clinton the morning that Comey said "no charges"?

Well, tomorrow Barack and Michelle Obama are to be with Clinton in a big rally in Philadelphia. I was wondering why Obama was taking such a chance that something bad might come out just before that rally.

Not taking a chance, when you know what is going to happen.

We are in a govt crisis of trust right now.

The "I told you so" garbage that is going to pour out of the Clinton surrogates is going to be intolerable.

This is all just so unbelievable.

Pundits are saying this thread will need to stay active from next week for 4 more years. Me, my hope is Trump wins and Pence steps up following him, whether in 4 or 8 years.

Don’t expect Trump or Clinton to stick around for a second term

Whichever unappealing candidate wins the US Presidential election next week, one thing seems to be pretty certain: they are almost certainly going to be one-term presidents.

If he’s elected, ‘the Donald’ will be a 74-year-old incumbent come 2020, so even if he turns out to be a much more effective president than most would predict at this juncture, he’ll be getting on a bit to run again. If nothing else, there’ll be significantly less bounce to his bonce.

Meanwhile, President Hillary, if that’s what she becomes, will be 73 in 2020. Even if she somehow manages to get the American people to fall in love with her, she will have endured four hard years in office, which means even less sleep and gallons more stress; not to mention thousands more emails to worry about. It doesn’t seem likely she will run for another term, does it?

[Alt-Text]
The recent past of American politics – just like our own – proves that nothing is impossible, of course. But to put it in perspective, Ronald Reagan was 73 when he began his second term – and he was looking a bit doddery at the end (and some would have said at the start, too). However, he was also massively popular, something neither Trump nor Clinton can claim.

So, as it stands, neither age nor the appeal of either candidate is on their side when contemplating 2020. That means the full, double-term whack is unlikely to come their way, which may put them in the relatively unloved rank of single-term presidents, of which we’ve had just four in the last hundred years; Bush Senior, Jimmy Carter, Gerald Ford and Herbert Hoover.

This suggests that we are likely going to have to go through another protracted and tedious and for the US, highly fractious, election cycle in 2019-2020, possibly with two new candidates battling it out, or with one ageing, possibly unloved and even more tarnished incumbent clinging on.

In effect, this means that we’re probably about to head into a brand new election cycle for 2020 almost immediately (with new faces jostling for position) and certainly will be after the midterm elections in November 2018, when whoever wins next week will, in all probability, become a lame duck, if they aren’t already.

All this bitterness, aggravation and rancour for just two or three years of effective presidency – if that. Depressing isn’t it? It might make great television for us but small wonder millions of Americans are disenfranchised by the whole thing.

All the talking turnips on CNN are acting like they are "surprised" on the decision.

Yep, they didn't know anything like that was going to be announced.

I do think Trump will win.

However, I simply cannot live my life based on who is president, be it Trump or Clinton.

I understand the election is serious as to where the country goes.
But again, I have a life to live.
If some wish to live or die based on who is president, good for them, but I am not like that.
