I think it just might be sinking into Trump that he is going to get this nomination and run for President of the United States and then win.

He just disarmed himself in the presence of a enemy IMO.

I had the same feeling during his press conference today. Early on, I have maintained that his candidacy would possibly cause the Republicans to lose. However, today I saw a man that was previously on an ego trip kinda change into someone who is serious about his campaign and serious in what he says. (I am also impressed that it is his money that is doing the talking, not the lobbyist's money - a point that he makes very well.

Did what he sign put him under contractual obligation to shut up? How about that he can't say anything bad about the other candidates?
How exactly is he now "disarmed"?
I don't see this hurting him at all.

At this point, the RNC has realized that he will win the nomination (unless they catch him having sex with a 14 year old or the neighbors dog).
I assume he had the upper hand on the RNC or he wouldnt have signed it. There would have been no reason to sign it otherwise. He doesnt need them. And the RNC knows that.

TXJIMI am not going to say Perry is out of the race but I will say that I am a 3 to 2 favorite to beat him myself at this point

Lets see how Trumps approach to things and the way he speaks changes. I say be ready to be as enthusiastic about a Trump that sounds more like Rick Perry than you are about Trump sounding like Trump.
Trump just went from the outsider that got him to where he is to one step closer to being a insider.
Would you trust the GOP establishment enough to sign this document? He had all the leverage with the speculation of a third party run. The GOP was terrified of that hanging over their heads. Now they have removed (disarmed) that threat from the foe. They will turn on him. Sure as Hillary is guilty.
Unless of course Trump decides to go against this tree house no girls allowed pact but then it will be too late. He will be a flip flop flopper.
Somebody should be asking the question of why something like a pledge like this even exists. I thought anybody could run for president for any party whether that be independent or not.

maximus_flaviusIs it true that some states don't allow anyone to run in their primary without signing such a pledge? If so, that easily explains why Trump would sign.
I also look forward to Trump winning the nomination & FORCING other GOP establishment politicians to support him ( or at least calling them out on it ).
I don't see how there could be anything legally binding him anyway. If he gets fucked out of the nomination by the establishment, I'm sure he will drop the pledge & go to war.

46and2it seems unlikely he would make an obvious mistake at this level, or a ruse/empty gesture.
thus, it's most likely somehow clearly beneficial to him, or he had no real choice.
either way, I'd very much like to understand and know with some certainty *why* he signed it.
whatever the answer, I suspect it will say a lot about Trump and the current situation.
