I could go for DT and Cruz as VP-Heir-apparent.

Let Cruz be DT's Dick Cheney.

I found the Walker statement very interesting and a bit disappointing..

We've learned a lot this past week. Trump is laying on the barbwire and most of them refuse to move forward. That's a clear indication they aren't really with us. Then we have people like Rubio going the other direction.

Para is correct. It's down to Trump and Cruz.

You're correct, sir.

With what DT has done and said, they could have thrown off their mantles of PC to get themselves elected and started speaking plainly which would have helped them all tremendously.

Yet, as shown by Walker, they've most all chosen to walk the path of "not offending anyone" which has done the opposite for them and shown us what they really are.

Its really disappointing to see the other candidates fizzle out so quickly. We aren't even close to crunch time yet. As everyone has concluded, Trump/Cruz or vice versa is the only wy to go. Cruz is still staying the course and won't give in to the BS pandering that the others have. (minus Carson and Huckabee). Another option would be Trump/Carson to pull in the ignorant voters that put Obama through because of his skin color but I really want to see Cruz as the President or VP.

So many of these posers on the Republican side just won't wake up to the new reality that applying the "business as usual" approach to politics is not going to get conservative and many independent voters out to the polls.

Because in their world it is "business as usual." They rub elbows with the same bunch of corrupt pols and RINOs. In the same comfy offices staffed with advisers and gofers who all day long tell them how great they are. They go to the same cocktail parties with the same out-of-touch elites. I can't resist the comparison because it is so clear: they are like the French aristocracy in the years before the revolution. Pampered, corrupt, isolated, totally out of touch. Until they were marched to the gallows and guillotine.

Jeb can have all the money in the world, when your message is crap, and offering more of the same past 7 years, not too many people will be really keen on voting you in, even with Jebs dynamic and exciting personality, even when he wants to give more power to the NSA to spy on the public.

this is a near-perfect description of most of them.

lucky for them the gallows are only a figurative threat nowadays.

(queue: "but that's just how politics work, a favor here, a favor there, blah blah blah.", yes, to an extent, but when the job becomes *about* the favors, to the exclusion of nearly all else of any meaningful sense, *then* there's a problem, and we're decades deep or worse into such trends.)

Unless the other guys were calling the shots. Then behaving would take in a whole nuther meaning, kind of like what N. Korea has devolved into.

Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me.

When you had the votes, we did things your way. Now, we have the votes and you will be doing things our way. This lesson in political reality from Lyndon B. Johnson

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." - Justice Janice Rogers Brown

After Trump's opening announcement, I mentioned here on this forum that he was our only hope, & I was scoffed at.

Everyone else is a politician. As much as I like Cruz, he has gotten to like big .gov & gotten very "churchy" over the last year. I also like Rand, but he can't seem to take a stand on anything. Walker has turned plum soft.

Jeb! is gonna hang on until the convention (if any way possible, & I think he has the $ to make it possible). Then the Establishment will make their move. It could get very ugly at the convention. We are in a fight for the life & future of the Repulicans.

I hope you watched Donald Trump’s nationally televised speech last Friday in front of a packed football stadium in Mobile, Alabama.

Trump gave America the most inspiring, off-the-cuff political speech since Ronald Reagan. He hit every note necessary to capture the respect and support of working class voters, blue dog Democrats and independents. And he didn’t even need a teleprompter!

I’m certain now that we all just witnessed the next president of the United States. Donald Trump is a freight train. He is a steamroller. No one is stopping him now. Not the biased liberal media. Not the GOP establishment. Not NBC, Univision or Macys. Not Hillary Clinton. Especially not Joe Biden.

Everything just changed in the blink of an eye.

My favorite line of the night – “We’ll make America Great Again … and it will be FUN!” That’s the key to Donald’s relentless success. He’s making politics fun and interesting again. He’s turning politics into a reality TV show. Trump is “The American Idol.” He’s making ordinary Americans tune in, instead of tuning out.

Trump has given us something Democrats always have and we never do. Star power. Celebrity branding. Trump is the Republican John F. Kennedy.

I feel bad for the rest of the GOP field. Because they are all talented, articulate, credible and the best damn crop of candidates in one place, at one time, in American political history. But it’s like putting a $100,000 Mercedes next to a Ferrari. The Mercedes looked great until the Ferrari showed up. Now all eyes are on the Ferrari.

Politics is show business. Trump is the showman. Trump attracts the crowds, the ratings, the attention. In any other time and place, Jeb Bush or Scott Walker or Rand Paul or even big-mouthed Chris Christie might have been the stand-out star. But this is “Trump Time.”

The packed football stadium in Alabama made it clear it’s time for the rest of them to step aside and get behind the man that can lead, inspire, and turnaround this once proud nation – the only candidate with the energy, personality, chutzpah and star power to “MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN.”

GOP Sens. Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio and Rand Paul … we love you all. BUT, it is time for you to go back to Washington, D.C., determined to help Trump once again make America the great “shining city on the hill.”

GOP Govs. Scott Walker, Bobby Jindal, Chris Christie, John Kasich, Rick Perry … go back to your states and show us how GOP principles can make America great again.

Mike Huckabee, you were a wonderfully inspirational TV host. I’m sure they are holding a spot for you at FOX. You’re very good. But there’s only one Donald Trump.

Then there’s Jeb Bush – a good and honorable man. Jeb served his state well, but it is time for the Bushes (as well as the Clintons) to get off the political stage. It is time for people like Donald Trump – citizen politicians with charisma, chutzpah and fire in the belly to inspire and take the lead to “Make America Great Again!”

That leaves two exceptional people: Carly Fiorina and Dr. Ben Carson. Carly, you are clearly an outstanding leader and I have no doubt you will have an important role in any future Trump administration.

Ben Carson, possible 2016 presidential candidate, speaks during the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in National Harbor, Maryland, U.S., on Thursday, Feb. 26, 2015. The 42nd annual CPAC, which runs until Feb. 28, features most of the potential Republican candidates for president, from Carson and Carly Fiorina to Jeb Bush and Scott Walker. Credit Bloomberg/Bloomberg via Getty Images
Credit Bloomberg/Bloomberg via Getty Images

That’s the beauty of Trump. There’s a GOP Dream Team to be assembled by CEO Trump. Trump is perfect for that role. In addition to being an inspirational leader, Trump is the perfect leader to hire the best and fire those who have made a mess of America.

Contrast that to Barack Obama. He could be the worst CEO in the history of mankind. But why should that be a surprise to anyone? Based on his qualifications before becoming a U.S. senator, I wouldn’t hire Obama as manager of a Diary Queen.

I saved the best for last: Dr. Ben Carson. Quite frankly Dr. Carson, you are one of the most amazing human beings God ever put on this planet. You may actually be too good for politics. When I watch Ben Carson, I see a modern day Martin Luther King. You are the man to inspire and bring hope and change, not just to the African American and minority communities, but to all Americans, especially the younger generation.

Could Ben Carson be Donald Trump’s vice president? Our nation is divided. Our health care system is in crisis. Our veterans are being mistreated. We need Donald Trump at the top of the ticket because winning the presidency demands a showman. Humble doesn’t work at the top of a presidential ticket. Ask Mitt Romney.

But Dr. Carson could be the perfect right-hand-man to Donald Trump in charge of healing race relations, repealing and replacing Obamacare, and making sure our vets are treated with dignity and respect. I’d trust my life, my healthcarevand this country’s most valuable resource, our veterans, with Ben Carson any day.

Now, I know there are those of you who say Trump can’t get elected. Baloney! All bets are off with Trump’s energy, electricity and bigger-than-life personality. Trump’s message of protecting, creating, and bringing jobs back to America for wage earners, including union workers, and those at the lower end of the income scale, including the young and new legal immigrants, will be a winning one. Trump’s message of rebuilding an America where the children of legal citizens once again have opportunities will resonate with all Americans- white, black, and legal Hispanic citizens. I believe Trump’s electric personality will win black voters in record numbers to the GOP. And of course with Ben Carson at his side, that success multiplies.

And, remember, in politics above all else…it’s “always the economy, stupid!” If that’s the theme, Trump wins 1,000 out of 1,000 times.

In one wild speech with 30,000 fans attending, Donald Trump went from controversial candidate to a man of destiny. This was Trump’s Presidential moment.

Trump is worse than Hitler! ....according to darling of the extreme Left, James Howard Kunstler
http://kunstler.com/clusterfuc...n/worse-than-hitler/

(Yes, "Kunstler" is a real name! Make up your own jokes. )

The Left's penchant for making analogies to Hitler are the quintessence of modern liberalism, and explained thoroughly in the youtube video "How Modern Liberals Think".

To use the principle in this scenario:

Hitler discriminated against Jews, gays and gypsies;
Trump discriminates against illegal aliens, drug runners, muderers, and terrorists.
Ergo, "Trump is worse than Hitler".

Liberals REALLY THINK THIS WAY, FOLKS!

"Crom is strong! If I die, I have to go before him, and he will ask me, 'What is the riddle of steel?' If I don't know it, he will cast me out of Valhalla and laugh at me."
