Clint Eastwood interview in the new Esquire Magazine on Trump:

quote:
ESQ: Your characters have become touchstones in the culture, whether it's Reagan invoking "Make my day" or now Trump … I swear he's even practiced your scowl.

CE: Maybe. But he's onto something, because secretly everybody's getting tired of political correctness, kissing up. That's the kiss-ass generation we're in right now. We're really in a pussy generation. Everybody's walking on eggshells. We see people accusing people of being racist and all kinds of stuff. When I grew up, those things weren't called racist. And then when I did Gran Torino, even my associate said, "This is a really good script, but it's politically incorrect." And I said, "Good. Let me read it tonight." The next morning, I came in and I threw it on his desk and I said, "We're starting this immediately."

ESQ: What is the "pussy generation"?

CE: All these people that say, "Oh, you can't do that, and you can't do this, and you can't say that." I guess it's just the times.

ESQ: What do you think Trump is onto?

CE: What Trump is onto is he's just saying what's on his mind. And sometimes it's not so good. And sometimes it's … I mean, I can understand where he's coming from, but I don't always agree with it.

ESQ: So you're not endorsing him?

CE: I haven't endorsed anybody. I haven't talked to Trump. I haven't talked to anybody. You know, he's a racist now because he's talked about this judge. And yeah, it's a dumb thing to say. I mean, to predicate your opinion on the fact that the guy was born to Mexican parents or something. He's said a lot of dumb things. So have all of them. Both sides. But everybody—the press and everybody's going, "Oh, well, that's racist," and they're making a big hoodoo out of it. Just fucking get over it. It's a sad time in history.

..and on Hillary:

quote:
ESQ: What do you think of Hillary?

CE: What about her? I mean, it's a tough voice to listen to for four years. It could be a tough one. If she's just gonna follow what we've been doing, then I wouldn't be for her.

ESQ: But if the choice is between her and Trump, what do you do?

CE: That's a tough one, isn't it? I'd have to go for Trump … you know, 'cause she's declared that she's gonna follow in Obama's footsteps. There's been just too much funny business on both sides of the aisle. She's made a lot of dough out of being a politician. I gave up dough to be a politician. I'm sure that Ronald Reagan gave up dough to be a politician.

Really good interview.

To hear the MSM and even Fox today, Trump is about to immolate (yes, they used that word) himself and the RNC may have to do an "intervention" (they used that word too). Christ, I had to turn that shit off. Mad

Trump needs to figure out that the media shapes public opinion and stop giving them quotes and statements them let them paint a horrible picture of him.

At the rate he's going this week Hillary could go on vacation for 2 weeks and gain 10 points in the poll.

Paul Nehlen has quite an interesting campaign strategy in trying to upset Paul Ryan in the WI congressional primary. Best of luck Nehlen:

Prntly - "Businessman Paul Nehlen, who is challenging Rep. Paul Ryan in his Wisconsin GOP primary, nationalizes the race to throw out the Republican House Speaker, saying under a Trump administration: “Paul Ryan will be nothing but a problem: He will thwart President Trump at every opportunity.
Nehlen slams Ryan for his support for the Trans-Pacific Partnership, amnesty for illegal immigrants and “jail-break” criminal justice reforms in this interview with ‘Fox Business Network’ host Lou Dobbs.
“August 9,” the date of the GOP primary, “will be Wisconsin’s Independence Day,” Nehlen said, echoing the successful Brexit slogan.
“With one vote we can take back our nation from Paul Ryan’s special interests,” he said. “With our one vote we can stop TPP and stop Amnesty. It is vitally important that we do this, because with President Trump in place, Paul Ryan will be nothing but a problem. He will thwart President Trump at every opportunity.”

AMP Calypso has ranked the race
Poll Conducted 7-20 7-29

523 Actual Voters in Wisconsin District 1

Will Vote Paul Ryan: 41%
Will Vote Paul Nehlen: 46%
Undecided: 13%

Remember, the primary is open, meaning some Democrats and non-Affiliated voters plan on voting Nehlen."

The media panders to the preconceptions of the public, they are not shaping shit....just reflecting back what people want to see. Which is why left wingers are repulsed by Fox and sane people are repulsed by Maddow. The days of unbiased journalism informing opinions is over. It's all partisan back patting now. Turn that shit off, vote your conscience and let the rest take care of itself.

I think this is the key to the entire election. Just as it was in 2008, there is no "fire in the belly" at all for Hillary. Trump will have fans standing in line for 1/2 mile to vote. Even in the states that will decide the election, it's going to be hard to explain a close race when everyone showing up to vote is wearing a Trump button.

She has no support.

And wait until the Trump campaign uses her quote in a commercial.

Hillary today in Nebraska:
"I’m telling you, right now - we’re going to write fairer rules for the middle class and we are going to raise taxes on the middle class!”

Though she misspoke, she at least told the truth, even if accidental.

Ive said this many times before but Ill say it again. Those polls dont mean shit...
Only 50% of registered republicans showed up to vote in 2012, and its tough to win any election with that lousy of a turnout. Romney did nothing to encourage or excite voters. Look at the voter turnout this year for republicans, totally different story isnt it. Trump supporters are going to show up, alot of Bernie voters are staying home, and Clinton supporters are irrelevent.

"And I'm going to give each and everyone of you a cyanide pill you can use after the votes are counted."

(crowd cheers * applause)

I had heard on the radio that Warren Buffet was campaigning for HRC, & thought that was a bummer, but after seeing what kind of crowd Buffet & Shriller drew today, in Buffets' own backyard, I'm really surprised. Those in the know in NE, what do the natives think of Buffet? Maybe he's better thought of nationally than locally?

Clint Eastwood thinks America’s “pussy generation” needs to “just f–ing get over” Donald Trump’s “racism.”

In an interview with Esquire published Wednesday, the actor/director/producer said young America — which he has dubbed both the “kiss-ass” and “pussy” generation — needs to stop throwing the word “racist” around so freely.

“[Trump’s] onto something, because secretly everybody’s getting tired of political correctness, kissing up,” he said. “We’re really in a pussy generation. Everybody’s walking on eggshells. We see people accusing people of being racist and all kinds of stuff. When I grew up, those things weren’t called racist.”

Eastwood also said that he isn’t inclined to support Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton if she continues upholding the status quo.

“I’d have to go for Trump … you know, ’cause she’s declared that she’s gonna follow in Obama’s footsteps,” he said. “There’s been just too much funny business on both sides of the aisle. She’s made a lot of dough out of being a politician. I gave up dough to be a politician.”

Though Eastwood said he hasn’t formally endorsed anybody, he dismissed the furor caused by Trump’s comments about the Mexican heritage of Judge Gonzalo Curiel, who presided over federal lawsuits against Trump University.

“Yeah, it’s a dumb thing to say. I mean, to predicate your opinion on the fact that the guy was born to Mexican parents or something. He’s said a lot of dumb things. So have all of them. Both sides,” Eastwood said. “But everybody — the press and everybody’s going, ‘Oh, well, that’s racist,’ and they’re making a big hoodoo out of it. Just f—ing get over it. It’s a sad time in history.”
