What I kept thinking every time he hit a point that made me nod or seized my breath at the thought of having a real leader heading in the right direction, I thought to myself, I don't think he's the clown this thread labels him as. He may have been before. He may be again. But tonight, he sounded to my heart the way Reagan did. He sounded genuine. He sounded righteous. He spoke to me. I don't think he is a clown.

And yeah, Ivanka's speech was solid, too. She and her brothers came across very well.

Overall, I'm quite pleased by what I've seen and heard this week.

When he is elected, he should have a agency version of the apprentice. First up, State Dept, you're fired! Next, lol

A shot at Hillary.

I thought it was odd too but when I woke this morning, I think it was directed to the Cruz supporters.

Overall, I thought it was a good speech. Very clear, concise, and a lot of work. There is a generations worth of change proposed and the Don is the man to get things started.

I disagree about the "shouting". He wasn't shouting, as far as I'm concerned. He was being very passionate, and quite effective. I know a lot of people don't like his style, but it suits me just fine.

I liked his speaking style, and didn't think it sounded like shouting. He was talking about all the murdered cops, in his loud 'projecting' voice, then dropped to a conversational tone to make his point. It was very effective.

That's one really good thing we have going for us, though. Trump has a good speaking voice. hitlery sounds just like a shrill harpy.

I also loved how the crowd shouted USA! USA! USA! from time to time. You can bet they won't chant that at the dnc convention - they HATE the USA. . .

What I heard was a message to the Democrats and liberal media. Time to give the car keys back to Dad kiddies. Date night is over. Get the beer cans off the back seat, clean the upholstery, fix the fender, get it washed and fill it up. Oh, by the way, you're grounded.

I didn't feel like he shouted. I thought he did a great job. I got to know him better and I'm glad I did.

I was surprised there were so few protester problems at the RNC convention.

Maybe why:

http://www.breitbart.com/big-g...ousand-five-hundred/

6,000 Police Officers From 13 States, D.C., Guarded GOP Convention in Cleveland

Two thousand five hundred police officers from more than a dozen states joined five hundred of Cleveland’s finest and three thousand federal law enforcement officers to provide security at the Republican National Convention here this week, according to local media reports.

Walking in groups of five to ten, police officers from California, Indiana, Maine, Delaware, Michigan, Columbus, Ohio, Memphis, Tennessee, and several other states patrolled the cordoned off areas of downtown Cleveland reserved for the GOP proceedings.

In order to be legally authorized to enforce the law while providing public security at the convention, all the officers from other states were sworn in as members of the City of Cleveland Police Force.

With the exception of one protest that shut down an entrance gate for half an hour on Wednesday, the overwhelming police presence appears to have been very successful at providing a safe and secure environment for the estimated 50,000 visitors brought to Cleveland by the Republican National Convention.

One officer with the California Highway Patrol told Breitbart News that his organization alone brought three hundred law enforcement officers to Cleveland for the week.

In addition to walking patrols, police officers from Cleveland and Columbus formed a fifty person bike patrol that was seen frequently riding in a disciplined formation around downtown Cleveland, calling out directional and other commands as they peddled.

On at least one occasion, mounted police were in force downtown also.

In April, the city of Cleveland obtained a $49.9 million “National Special Security Event” federal grant from the Department of Justice to enhance security for the convention. A portion of those funds were used to bring the additional two thousand five hundred police officers in from other states.

The city of Philadelphia, which will be hosting the Democratic Nationa Convention next week, received a $43 million “National Special Security Event” federal grant from the Department of Justice for convention security as well.

It was a very quiet convention, nothing at all like the media led everyone to expect.

Here's hoping the DNC convention doesn't go as smooth Smile

We have had enough of style, enough of great oration with hollow words, enough of the patronizing lies. A street fight is never won on style points.

I thought he had a solid speech. His sons and daughters are solid people, very impressive. Pence was a good VP pick IMO. Feeling good about November.

JALLEN, I agree that Trump connects very well when he speaks off the cuff, but he is usually short on substance when he is in that mode, at least when I have heard him.
Tonight, he delivered vision and substance, in my opinion, and he delivered it with great passion. I was blown away, and I tend to be very jaded about political speeches.

He's is much better speaking on his own. This was just talking louder for the most part, and slower, like I talk to my in laws when they would rather risk their uncertain English than my imaginative French.

He hit all the red meat issues ok, but he has been a lot better on the trail winging it.

When Bush defeated Kerry in /04, I tuned in to Air america on XM and got myself drunk on schadenfreude. It was absolutely hysterical listening to one moon-bat after the other calling in crying - literally - and bemoaning the end of the world. They were distraught. I'm not as confident as most of you that Trump can actually win in November, but if he pulls it off, I think November 9th will be a repeat of even more epic proportions on whatever the current incarnation of the left winger radio station is and I highly recommend tuning in.
