At this point, are there even enough delegates left for Cruz to get to obtain the nomination?
Nope. But those goal posts had been moved a few weeks back. Now it's not about winning, but rather preventing Trump from winning. Cruz is aiming for a contested convention.

mbinkyCruz does not have 1237 votes. Neither does Trump. Therefore no one has clinched the nomination. I don't know about you, but I was taught to play all 60 minutes of the game, to the whistle. And unless Trump hits 1237 before then, the whistle blows in June at the convention.

sdyRep Establishment treachery at work. Another example:
http://theresurgent.com/scott-...-slate-in-wisconsin/Cruz screwed by Wisconsin GoP
Cruz won Wisconsin, but
Only four of the 18 delegates on the GOP list were on the list the Cruz campaign sent the state party, meaning the state party ignored its own rules that require it to honor the wishes of the Cruz campaign in naming 15 of the 18 statewide delegates. Among the 18 alternates, not a single one of them was from the original Cruz campaign list.
the state GOP wants to put Rubio and Kasich supporters on the delegate slate. Former Gov. Tommy Thompson led the Kasich campaign in Wisconsin and he’s headed to Cleveland as a delegate from Wisconsin.
It is not clear how, and if, the Cruz campaign will challenge this slate of delegates

Not a Cruz fan at this time...But this shows just how bad, rigged, backstabbing and corrupt the current systems are.

Walker worked overtime for Cruz in Wisconsin and it worked. But....the GOP machine in Wisconsin is mostly RINO's and they are going to make sure their interests are protected in Cleveland.
The Wisconsin delegates are bound to Cruz on the first ballot but we know Cruz cannot win on the first ballot and it's still unknown if Trump can. If no one wins on the first ballot, the Wisconsin delegates will dump Cruz like yesterday's newspaper and vote their heart.
Many other states are stacking their delegates as well. Indiana is a good example. Even if Trump wins Indiana, the majority of delegates who go to the convention will be Cruz supporters. If no one wins on the first ballot, they will vote their heart.
A lot of strategy and tactics in this GOP Convention.

arcwelderAnyone but Hillary.
I have a host of reasons that she shouldn't be allowed in the White House, but the most offensive to me is the idea of people voting for her because she has a vagina. It was bad enough that people voted for obama because he was black. Now those same idiots want to elect a woman because "wouldn't be historic".....
Awful. Why don't we just elect a string of "firsts" into the White House and ignore whether they are lying criminal sacks of shit or not.
Arc.

PASigI went to my little podunk polling station today after work and had to wait in line! A first for me. They hand you a little slip that says DEMOCRAT or REPUBLICAN and a quick glance around told me there were 2 Republicans for every 1 Democrat. Trump won PA by a large margin tonight!

gw3971I'm okay with Cruz staying in it until the next primary as the most conservation candidate. After he loses that primary Cruz needs to get out. He needs to pledge support to use his ground organization to help Donald give the Republican party the enema the party deserves.

justjoeIt wasn't just the wins, but the margins. As Trump said, getting 60% running against two others is phenomenal.
Meanwhile, Hillary won some squeakers. Very nearly lost Connecticut. The Democrat leaders have to be near panic. This was supposed to be a slow coronation procession to the throne for her. Instead, she's fighting it out with Crazy Bernie.
The revulsion against establishment politicians is huge, and growing. It works for Trump and against Hillary.
