There's expectation that Carson will soon endorse Trump.

I guess he said something like he thinks Islam hates America on CNN.

They went on to lecture us on how Americans should act and speak etc. the usual propaganda they put forth.

Washington Post running w the Carson story

https://www.washingtonpost.com...ns-to-endorse-trump/

Conservative favorite Ben Carson, who last week suspended his campaign for the Republican presidential nomination, plans to endorse Donald Trump on Friday morning, according to two people familiar with his thinking.

The endorsement, perhaps the most high-profile nod for Trump since New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie backed him, was finalized Thursday morning when Carson met with Trump at Mar-a-Lago, the luxury club owned by the Republican front-runner, the people said. The sources requested anonymity to discuss private conversations.

Friday’s announcement will also take place at the club in Palm Beach, Fla., where the onetime rivals will appear alongside one another at a news conference.

So Muslims are asking for an apology, eh? That's rich.

Unlike Hillary Clinton, whose every word and policy statement on the campaign trail are spoon-fed to her by a giant paid staff and army of shadowy advisors, Trump is his own man, with a steely “damn the torpedoes” attitude. He has a swaggering retro machismo that will give hives to the Steinem cabal. He lives large, with the urban flash and bling of a Frank Sinatra. But Trump is a workaholic who doesn’t drink and who has an interesting penchant for sophisticated, strong-willed European women. As for a debasement of the presidency by Trump’s slanging matches about penis size, that sorry process was initiated by a Democrat, Bill Clinton, who chatted about his underwear on TV, let Hollywood pals jump up and down on the bed in the Lincoln Bedroom, and played lewd cigar games with an intern in the White House offices."

Here's what she says about Cruz:

"Trump with his pragmatic real-life record is a far more palatable national figure than Ted Cruz, whose unctuous, vainglorious professions of Christian piety don’t pass the smell test. Trump is a blunt, no-crap mensch, while Cruz is a ham actor, doling out fake compassion like chopped liver."

Ben Carson to endorse Donald Trump in Florida on Friday

Retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson is set to endorse Donald Trump in Florida on Friday, a person familiar with the situation confirmed to CBS News, giving the GOP front-runner a boost ahead of key primaries in Florida and Ohio next Tuesday.

The endorsement from Carson is arguably the biggest Trump has received since New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie backed him in February, and could help Trump with the evangelical and Republican base voters that helped fuel Carson's candidacy.

Carson suspended his campaign in an appearance at the Conservative Political Action Conference just last Friday, two days after he announced he didn't see a "path forward" in the race.

In an interview on Fox News Radio Thursday, Carson hinted at his support for the GOP real estate mogul. Asked whether he was planning to back Trump, he replied: "Let's put it this way, I'm certainly leaning."

And despite his past criticism of Trump, Carson said Thursday that there's a side of Trump people don't see in public.

"Well, you know there are two Donald Trumps. There's the Donald Trump that you see on television and who gets out in front of big audiences, and there's the Donald Trump behind the scenes," he said. "They're not the same person. One's very much an entertainer, and one is actually a thinking individual."

If Carson does endorse Trump, that is a big deal. A lot of those who like Carson don't like Trump, because they like Carson's quiet demeanor and thoughtfulness and find opposite qualities in Trump. But Carson's endorsement will make many of them rethink their reactions to Trump.

Carson is such an intelligent just plain nice guy-- how in Hell did he get tangled up in politics? I'm glad for his sake that he is out. He doesn't deserve, and I don't think he is built for, the kind of abuse everybody on the national scene gets these days.

Cruz’s lugubrious, weirdly womanish face, with its prim, tight smile and mawkishly appealing puppy-dog eyebrows, is like a waxen mask, always on the verge of melting. This guy doesn’t know who the hell he is—and the White House is no place for him and us to find out."

Mrs and I have talked about this a bit. I may be thinking too far outside the box, but part of me believes Trump as prez and Carson as VP would be a good thing -- largely due to that opposite/balance characteristic.

God bless America.

I agree, it's fairly spot on in regards to Trump, but the piece on Cruz was 50% about what he looks like. Pure trash journalism.

I don't know how anyone cannot know who Camille Paglia is. She's been writing for as long as I can remember. In this particular article I think she's saying that Trump is the man and Cruz is a weirdo.

Camille didn't miss any branches herself, to be talking about Cruz' looks.
