Donald Trump is a first-rate ass clown, but...
I certainly don't need convincing. I'm not at all as apprehensive about Trump as some others are, though I admit he does give me the slightest bit of pause with some of his past positions. Cruz gives me absolutely zero apprehension or pause whatsoever, which is why he's my number one.

Nevertheless, I do believe Trump is a gung-ho American, which will be good enough for me come this November.

On the topic of security, few articles awhile back regarding comments on the Larry Elder Show by the Daily Caller;

"TRUMP CONFIDANTE SAYS DONALD WEARS BULLETPROOF VEST TO PREVENT ASSASSINATION ATTEMPTS
Donald Trump first began wearing a bullet proof vest for certain sorties back in October after reports that the world’s most wanted drug lord El Chapo had put a $100 million bounty on his head, but now it appears as though he has donned the item for every public appearance.

CONSERVATIVE TALK SHOW HOST LARRY ELDER ASKED WHY TRUMP DIDN’T BUTTON HIS JACKET, SAYING HE’D NEVER SEEN THAT WITH A POLITICIAN BEFORE.

Roger Stone’s response was ominous – apparently Trump doesn’t button up his jacket because he is always wearing a bullet proof vest. It’s no surprise that Trump is cautious about his personal security given the deluge of death threats he has received since becoming the Republican frontrunner.

Following his controversial comments on Muslim immigration, there was an explosion of “kill Trump” threats made by leftists on Twitter.

Trump first began wearing a bullet proof vest for certain sorties back in October after reports that the world’s most wanted drug lord El Chapo had put a $100 million bounty on his head, but now it appears as though he has donned the item for every public appearance.

It was around this time that it was also revealed Trump would receive agent protection from the Secret Service after a sudden increase in death threats."

There's the "political record" of the career politician and the "political record" of a private individual. The political animal had to craft himself from the beginning to maximum effect to climb the political ladder. The private individual tends to be less pre-fabricated, contradictory, and inconsistent as a "conservative" or "liberal". I'm not saying that alone makes Trump more honest or better but that we should at least acknowledge that there is a difference.

Antis thinks guns are only good for killing people. I think guns are good for self defense. So I'm the one with the "problem"?

This. The worst part of it is that this year we have had, far and away, the best crop of truly conservative candidates in decades. People with records of actual success. Perry, Jindal, Walker, Cruz, Carson, Fiorina. Even Rubio is a Tea Party type who primaried a popular incombent RINO. That is what passes for "establishment" in this race. Jindal actually cut the number of govt employees by 20%. Why oh why can't we get a guy like him, with experience, and you know, actual knowledge of the issues in the WH?

Sad.

Because so many are blinded by the cult of personality that they cast aside their stated values to worship their idol de jour.

We need a winner, and it ain't gonna be Ted Cruz. He could be the most perfect conservative candidate to have ever lived, but if he can't win, he's no good to us.

Hey you, yes you! How about you zip this shit. I don't spend hours each and every day looking through all the news and actually looking into these people to be stupid. I have had years of telling people how fucked the republican establishment is and Fox yet now the guy who exposes it all is a evil democrat plant....... I am tickled pink.

Get a grip.

How about you just worry about you and your establishment pucks and get of the bogus boogie man Trump BS.

If you have something real to say besides just insulting us for Trump you might want to try that. Wink

Now good day Sir, I am going to get back to making America great again and better than ever!

I don't recall ever seeing Trump with his coat buttoned, nor do I recall seeing him without a coat, and only once or twice without a tie.

One thing he has loosened up on is he has taken to wearing striped ties, sometimes. He used to wear only solid color ties, usually bright, red, blue, yellow, etc. and always a dark blue or perhaps black suit.

Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me.

When you had the votes, we did things your way. Now, we have the votes and you will be doing things our way. This lesson in political reality from Lyndon B. Johnson

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." - Justice Janice Rogers Brown

I'm glad you think its funny. I actually care about this country and don't believe that this election is a joke but is extremely important for the future of the country and my child's future. It's all fun and games now but we will see. He will have my vote if he gets the nomination as I have said earlier but that doesn't mean I have to like it.

OK, yeah, you're the only person whose future is at stake here.

Knock it off, huh? You guys need to stop being so self-righteous. Every person posting in this thread has a stake in the upcoming election, as does every American.

You want to worry about what the next president might do? Try worrying about President Hillary Clinton.
