if that's true, that they've engineered some gotcha-by-proxy, fuck them.

the relevance, generally self determined, of FOX News, Megan Kelly, and Iowa will be put to the proverbial test. I don't particularly like all this drama, but it does make it interesting.

Not unlike Trump, I too had intended to skip the debate once I learned that bimbo Kelly would be moderating again. Absolutely stupid part on the part of Roger Ailes and FOX. But for those of you who think this is a bad move on Trump's part, I don't think you've considered all the angles. Let's consider...And in the end, Trump winning Iowa likely means very little when it comes to winning the primary. In the past, most of the GOP winners in Iowa have gone on to crash and burn. That and Iowa caucus goers are totally unreliable in terms of their voting.

I think this a calculated risk for Trump, but one he'll benefit from in the long run even if he doesn't win Iowa.

When it's a TV network and all of his political running opponents are appearing, yes, he should.

He looks like a spoiled rich kid running scared by dodging the press.

And the RNC recently suspended its relationship with CNBC. Why did they do that, and how is that different from what Trump is doing?

Hosting a fundraising event for veterans at the same time as the debate is fantastic.

Y'know, I tuned into ol' Megan last night while she was talking to Brit Hume, and man, she looked grave. The look on her face said it all. I tuned to something else, came back a bit later, and she was still talking about Trump, and still looked like someone had just run over her dog. How's that smarmy "war on women" shit working out for you, Meg? Is is still as funny to you now as when you thought up the question while applying your eye liner? Guess not, huh?

So, really, fuck 'em. Fox is barely better than the rest of the despicable media in this country. Fuck 'em. I side with Trump.

And, by the way- "Debate"? Listen, if you don't know by now which candidate you intend to support, you're too stupid to vote, mmkay? It's nothing but ratings and ad revenue for Fox.

But, not now that their meal ticket bowed out. Cool

Trump can't be bought by big money donors or the supposedly biased Fox News and I think this is a big FU to Fox...I watched a bit of CNN and MSNBC and the Dem's don't quite know what to think about this.
It will be interesting to see if the "Donald is afraid of Megyn" talk that Cruz is saying will backfire on him...I like Cruz but he sounded like a whiner last night.

Someone should count the number of times Trump's name is mentioned during the debate.

Something struck me today while flipping between Fox News and XM125 Patriot radio in my truck. Trump is absolutely 100% controlling the news cycle.

For the first time in a long time I heard Fox News talking about the VA scandal again and how nothing has really changed....I wonder why that topic came up again? Love him or hate him Trump has exposed the media as liars and has thus far masterfully beaten them at their own game.

My opinion of Fox News has changed quite a bit over the last year and I think it is in large part because of Trump. Initially I thought it was a mistake to skip this debate but I'm beginning to think it was yet another brilliant move by Trump. It will be VERY interesting to see how this plays out.

It was stupid. We have serious issues facing this country, and that's how she began the debate... "war on women"?, c'mon! She degraded herself, and thereby her employer.

However....

Moreover, the Donald had to know that FOX was not going to dump her at the last minute.
So why bow out?

Well, it's said that when you are in the lead, you don't need to debate. It gives your opponent an opportunity. Debates give the challengers exposure and potentially help them overcome your lead.

Is Trump afraid of Megyn? No. Is he afraid of debating? No. He's done it 5X now and he's getting better at it. It's tactical. He has a lead in the polls.

However, I do think he's miscalculating. If 1 out of 4 or so can still be swayed, I don't think a majority of those are going to tilt his way because of this decision to not show up for the debate.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

I noticed that look on Megan's face also. Something happened.

Since Trump became popular, the whole bunch at fox has shown their selves to be biased against him. And they have all been wrong most of the time. Losers all.

Greta is as bad as Megan, But I think she is supporting Hillary to win. She has been looking mighty concerned about something lately also.

Or . . . he dodges it entirely, goes to some small time town-hall type of event. He ends up being the champion of the little guy, eschewing the spotlight in favor of hearing real world problems from the people of Iowa. He still ends up being the talk of the town on every media outlet as the star who turned them down. He robs the GOP of one last chance to tank him before the primary, and Kelley of another shot at revenge.

So maybe I'm too simple to see it, but could somebody show me how Don loses on this?

Exactly.....and if his press conference pulls viewers from the debate......WIN

Why the hell would I watch the debate now? To listen to Cruz win....kinda like watching a pro team play a high school team. Might be funny in parts but the result is a forgone conclusion.

Oddball posted a link about the YouTube muslim advocate they invited to the debate.

Here is some detail from that link:

Nabela Noor

Noor argues that Muslims are individually and collectively insulted when many Americans’ offer sincere and well-argued criticism of Islam’s violent doctrines — for example, jihad, bans against free speech, the death penalty for quitting Islam, sexual subordination of women, opposition to democracy and the separation of mosque and state, etc., etc.

That bigoted claim of injury from free speech echoes the demand from orthodox Islam that critics of Islam be silenced – by force if needed – and that the status or honor of each Muslim is damaged if they fail to fight against any criticism of Islam by non-Muslims.

Noor showed an image linking Trump and Hitler

She admits to becoming a Muslim political activist amid the growing criticism of Islam’s doctrines. “The current social environment for Muslims today is not safe or just… as a Muslim American, I felt like I needed to use my voice,” she claimed.

Noor also urged her YouTube viewers to rally against critics of Islam. “I’m so thankful for those who speak up and out against anti-Islamic speech and ideologies. Our community needs more allies like you, but we have a long way to go,” she said.

Looks like a cheap shot set up that was intended to go after Trump.

Fox is really screwing up. Very disappointing.

Politicians and the media should have had a revelatory moment when Newt Gingrich called out John King of CNN during a Republican presidential debate. Newt got a standing ovation. His poll numbers sky rocketed. This should have made politicians and the media sit up and take notice.

Megyn thinks that journalism is all about having her fake eyelashes applied one at a time-- I'm not making that up-- and what outfit she wears. Ailes made her into the Princess of Fox, so she had reason to believe she was right.

But there is a great and growing awareness that our country is teetering on the abyss. The wildfire of Trump's support is testimony to that fact, and to the belief that he is the man we need in this crisis. That's why The Princess' asinine question about the war on women was like a loud fart. Open the windows!

We are trillions in debt, our foreign policy is an embarrassment, the Southern border is wide open, China is eating our lunch, terrorists live among us-- and the best this "journalist" can do as we choose our leader in this catastrophic mess is... shift slightly in her seat, raise one leg, and: "Mr. Trump... brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrt!!"

I think the American people have a pretty good understanding of what Muslims are. This idiot is not going to change that. If she really wants to promote Islam, why isn't she hammering the terrorists instead of the people who call them what they are?
