If the DOJ doesnt indict, there will be more leaks than an exercise room at the retirement home. This will only further Trump and the backlash.
Joe Biden? Seriously? Bring him on.

doublesharpTrump has got street smarts and once he gets the nomination watch what happens to his dem opponent...they won't know what hit them.
I like Cruz 2nd best but I don't think he can win. He's a good man but he just doesn't have the charisma, yeah that's shallow but, dammit, we're in a lofo world. There will be a powerful place for Cruz in a Trump WH and he's young. Trump has the means to buy every technical advantage and he's got a network of winners as allies. He's going to pull a mix of young, old, black, hispanic, etc voters to the polls that aren't counted by the pollsters. Blow out of 2nd term Reagan proportion is my prediction.

In a nut shell, yep.
And I have learned my lesson from the "polling" during the Romney campaign. Not again.
And I too think Trump, once he gets the Republican nomination, will blow out the Dems by a good margin.

mbinkyPersonally I want Cruz on the Supreme Court. He could do more there to help America for the rest of his lifetime than he could in 4 or 8 years in the White House.
January 22, 2016, 07:42 PM
entropyI agree with that too.

I agree, I think this is where he would do the most good for the country. The thing I worry about is, does the GOP in the Senate hate him enough to block the confirmation?
January 22, 2016, 07:49 PM
AckksIf he ends up losing I'd love to see him there too, but good luck getting him through the Senate. They would love nothing more than to get revenge.

Xer0I'd also like the idea of Cruz in the Supreme Court, although his nomination would never get past congress. Barring that Cruz as Attorney General would also be nice. Cruz is my Don Quixote. He will always be honorable and right while forever tilting futilely at wind mills. Unfortunately, the wind mills don't care that he's honorable and right and only move with the wind..
Trump is the storm to blow down the wind mills.

So true. Not only the GDCs, but also the GDRINOS will conspire to kill his nomination.

bigdealYou guys that fret about ole Hillary winning the White House fascinate me. Without Benghazi, without her email/server fiasco, without Bill's long history of womanizing and her attacking the woman he dallied with, she's an absolutely horrible candidate who is very beatable by even a mediocre opponent. Add all that into the equation, especially how she's polling on 'trust' by the American voter, and you have a potential landslide win for someone.
And for the record, if Hillary's email debacle spirals much farther into the realm of gross negligence and a cover up with secret information, not to mention a potential pay for play environment we aren't even talking about right now, my bet is when the FBI recommends an indictment, the DOJ will have no choice but to indict. If they don't, they risk an even bigger loss for the DEM's in the coming general if they opt to try and sweep something this huge under the rug. Ultimately, IMO the DEM's are in a no win situation with Hillary right now. If the FBI recommends an indictment and DOJ refuses, the blow back will kill her in the general election regardless who her opponent is (and that assumes she even survives the primary). If the DOJ does indict her, and Biden enters the race as has been predicted, all of Bernie's supporters revolt and boycott voting, while many independents watch turmoil in the DEM camp, and Republican super PAC video ads of Biden fondling children, groping other people's wives, and being the old, white, even less capable, reincarnation of Barry Obama.
Come on guys, let's celebrate the pain and suffering the DEM's are feeling now and that will likely grow as the general election creeps closer.

I really, REALLY agree with this.

And meanwhile, Zippys little world is starting to close in on him.
He will leave Office the most despised President in our Nations history..

I hate to rain on your (and my) parade, but as much as I'd love to see Cruz as a SCOTUS judge, there's little chance he would make it through a confirmation. And his biggest opponents would likely be the Senate republicans that have hated the man since he arrived in Washington. And the DEM's would be apoplectic at the very hint of him being nominated.
Getting Cruz on the high court is unfortunately, an extreme long shot.

AckksDepending on how ugly this gets, I wonder if he'd even run for another term in the Senate? At some point he may just say screw it and want to be with his family in Texas. It has to wear him out being one of the few people trying to swim against the current.

Very good points. Hillary is where charisma goes to die. She couldn't beat a first-term Senator in 2008 and every Dem is looking for reasons not to vote for her.
The Dems' path to victory is through Bernie Sanders, which surprises me to even type that.
And to say "so-and-so is the only one who can beat so-and-so" is shortsighted. A lot of things can happen in the next 10 months.

With the exception of the woman problems of Dandy Bill, all of these issues were non-existent when she lost against an unknown black guy. And the "woman problems" are now more potent in today's society.
She was a horrible candidate then, even more so now.
