She said she then felt the need "to clarify as quickly and clearly as possible" what had transpired.

Doesn't pass the smell test. The secret meeting took place on Monday 27 June. Lynch made no mention of it on Tuesday. Then on Wednesday morning there was a surprise question from ABC15 asking about the meeting.

If the news station hadn't gotten the tip that the meeting had occurred, I don't believe we would have ever known about the meeting.

Yes, kind of ironic that a constitutional scholar who has an issue with the EC would not make any attempt at all to deal with the issue while he was the president for a full 8 years. Seems like he was not a particularly adept scholar, or president. Now it just appears to be whining.

The Vice President, as President of the Senate, presides over the count and announces the results of the Electoral College vote. The President of the Senate then declares which persons, if any, have been elected President and Vice President of the United States.

Former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger said in an interview Sunday that President-elect Donald Trump could go down in history as a "very considerable president."

"Donald Trump is a phenomenon that foreign countries haven't seen," Kissinger said on CBS's "Face The Nation."

"So it is a shocking experience to them that he came in to office. At the same time, extraordinary opportunity."

Kissinger said every country now has to consider two things.
