imdefinitely feel Cruz is by far the best man for the job, the only thing that worries me is that if Trump doesn't get the nomination that he will run as an independent and give the victory to Hillary.
A new poll in Iowa shows Trump at 25 and Cruz at 23 percent. I'm more curious if Trump supporters will be OK with Cruz. I don't think Trump would run third party against him, but some of his supporters are diehards.

maximus_flaviusI think most people will vote for either Trump or Cruz. They will support either. Most would not vote for Trump as an I, if it's Cruz as e R nominee.
They are 2 men outside the Establishment with conservative beliefs. That's really all most people want.

I agree, but if he does run as an I he will still pull a lot of votes away, the majority might stay but just enough to be a spoiler. I'll vote for either one of them that runs as an R in the general of course.

SIG4EVAI don't think you need to worry about Trump or Cruz winning. Trump already said he would take Cruz as VP and I'm sure if Cruz gets the nomination, Trump would gladly accept VP.

FenderBenderI've been a Trump supporter from the last time he ran (maybe being a kid from New York has something to do with that I don't know) but a Trump/Cruz ticket would win in such a landslide I think they would even take Minnesota.

I agree, Trump is not interested in VP.
But, Trump did say a while back that he would support the GOP nominee if it wasn't him.

Nope, not with his ego.

a1abdjThe people who keep saying that Trump's ego is what is driving him to do what he is doing need to look a little deeper. He has a huge ego, but that's not why he is running.

I get that, but I don't think he'd feel he could be effective enough as VP. I think he's in it to win it.

As President of the Senate? Hell, Cruz could just put him in charge of border security and he'd get to manage half of his campaign platform anyway.

If they could truly work as a team, you make a good point. It is interesting that they hold a bond that the other candidates don't.

Probably right...
I just hope the Donald doesn't start unloading on Cruz as Cruz continues to climb in the polls.
It looks like Carson is starting to fade.
"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

Il CattivoCruz would actually have more freedom to work and work effectively as AG than as President or VP.

It takes an enormous ego to even consider running for the Presidency. To think one can be the most powerful leader on the planet takes a bit of confidence that is on a higher plain than most people.

46and2I see no evidence Trump would accept a VP offer if he doesn't get the nomination, unless he and Cruz have a deeper and more complex backroom deal that hasn't been shared yet.
also, I don't think he'll run 3rd Party after committing to not, and even if he did I think his support would plummet to near zero due to such a fresh and blatant reversal.
the only exception that I can think of would be if by some crazy long shot or Primary tomfoolery the GOP nominates Bush, then mayyyybe a 3rd Party run would make sense (in Trump's mind, and perhaps be excusable enough in the mind of some supporters).
Hopefully it'll be Trump/Cruz and avoid any kooky scenarios. its not Trump I'm worried about as we near the election, I'm much more concerned with the GOP and Establishment and the Roves of the world who have ample incentives to screw with things.

I am hoping for Trump/Cruz as well... I think he's still got people's attention and he's still an "outsider" - which has got to have a broad appeal. If Cruz is VP or AG, as long as it gets him eventually into the position that Trump will hopefully have held for two terms. We're going to need a lot of time to undo the damage from the GDCs.
