I think I'd want Cruz on the court over AG. Isn't having all of these option wonderful?

Me too. It works really well: Give it a try.

Him: You're a racist.
You: You're a pedophile.
Him: What???
You: You heard me. You fuck little boys up their asses.

And so on, while he defends himself instead of attacking you. You can always make up names of the little boys.

You: What about little Tim Robinson?
Him: Who?
You: You don't even remember the poor little fellow, do you. Cretin! Monster!

etc. Big Grin

People keep talking about Cruz or Goudy as court picks, but they should really look at Trump's list, there are some excellent picks, including Diane Sykes and Don Willet, both with conservative cred and strict constitutionalists. I trust Trump's list.

That said, I think Cruz would make a good AG. Seems Giuliani is jonesing for the Sec. of State job, and Christie, also jonesing for AG, is on a milk carton now.

That would seem to be a tough choice for the country. Trump spent the equivalent of hundreds of thousands of dollars of air time selling that it's "Lyin' Ted." Rehabilitating that may not be possible in any quick way. It's hard to say Ted Cruz now without attaching "Lyin'" because it has been driven home so much.

With the loss of confidence in the integrity of the Justice Department by both sides of the aisle at this time in our history, Ted's would seem to be a selection that would reinforce the idea that the Justice Department should not be trusted.

Ted being selected for the AG would have him and the administration starting in a hole. The AG is a legal position but it's also a social position to project integrity and justice. Trump spent the primaries trashing Ted's integrity and Ted has returned the favor so it makes for an interesting situation.

I understand the desire for bringing people together but this rumor is baffling. As always, though, there is so much that is discussed behind the scenes that may make the selection seem appropriate to President-elect Trump.

It seems that there would need to be some public restoration of true confidence between Trump and Cruz. They have been publicly burying the hatchet in a different way for such long time.

Before Ronald Reagan ever took office, he was called a number of negative things and the list grew over time. I saw this and remember these things from the time. Labeled a buffoon, dangerous, reckless cowboy, demented, warmonger and etc., the media fanned an image of Reagan as someone who would crash the economy, worsen people’s lives and cause nuclear devastation of the world. Just the opposite is what Reagan produced.

President-elect Trump is getting a new version of a media trashing by marking him as racist, incompetent, unaware and etc. Bannon is just a device to tar Trump as unfit in his selection judgment. In the same way as Reagan, even if he delivers what he promises and improves the lives of Americans across the board, he will still be labeled. Heck, Reagan is dead and the truth is in the books but they still trash him

I have been watching various reports and shows on unfriendly channels and online sources. It seems that a lot of the old and new media are sticking to a familiar path. More than reporting some fire, they are trying to build one.

Wall St Journal and Business Insider are reporting that Pence fired all Lobbyists from the Transition Team, as well as:

quote:
Former Michigan Rep. Mike Rogers, who handled national-security duties and senior defense and foreign policy official Matthew Freedman.

Rogers was told that all team members picked by Christie were being ousted, The Journal reported, citing a source familiar with the situation.

...

The decision was one of Pence's first since formally taking over the team's lead role. New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie was abruptly dismissed from the post last week.

From everything that's going on, it sounds like they have a plan. They probably let Christie diddle with the transition plan just to keep him busy and out of the way. Maybe he wouldn't have time to show up and hug Zippy again. Now that the election is over, they can let the adults into the room.
