Mad

With the map like that, how ya gonna do it?

They are half way there.
If enough states agree to direct their electors to vote for whoever wins the national popular vote, the Electoral College becomes moot.

http://www.nationalpopularvote.com

Yeah, and they've been beating this drum for a while. If something isn't done to stop it, it will be disastrous.

To be fair, everybody bitches about the EC when they loose.

I wonder what he was thinking when he tweeted about this. He was a Republican at this point, supporting Mitt Romney. The Electoral College is only a disaster for Democrats. Republicans can never win the popular vote and lose the EC. That can only happen to Democrats because of the huge solid blue populations of CA, NY, IL, MA, etc.

Why would he be railing against the EC back then?

Remember the guy who threatened to fire anyone who smoked, on the job, or off?

What's the diff?

Haircuts? Facial hair? Casual Fridays? Married or not? Church goer or not? Alcoholic? Weed?

Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me.

When you had the votes, we did things your way. Now, we have the votes and you will be doing things our way. This lesson in political reality from Lyndon B. Johnson

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." - Justice Janice Rogers Brown

The electoral college is a disaster for a democracy. Luckily we live in a Constitutional Republic, and it is an ingenious method of protecting the all of the States' interests.

Thank God.

The usual justification cited is that smokers cost companies more in health coverage. I’m not convinced of that claim myself, but it is different than firing someone because of their political choices. And I believe I’ve seen here in the past year or so approval expressed of a (probably apocryphal) story about a CEO firing everyone who had Obama bumper stickers on their cars because of that man’s antibusiness policies and attitudes.

We can tell where NY Port Authority PD comes out on President Trump...

And with the Fox News cameras rolling live via helicopter (something that the showman Trump himself undoubtedly knew full well was happening), the signature Trump plane took its time to taxi around Laguardia airport in New York City before takeoff. Laguardia employees at one point lined the runway, waving their support to the President-elect, and Trump himself was treated to an honorary water salute.

Water salutes are often used in aviation as a means to recognizing a highly distinguished individual, event, or aircraft. The event is marked by a pair of firetrucks that spout off water canons on either side of an aircraft; today’s event at Laguardia was in honor of Trump’s stunning and historic presidential upset.

Fox embed Dan Gallo identified that the water salute came from the Port Authority Police Department.

I be willing to bet that it wasn't water in the canons, it was liberal tears.

a little quote from Bernie I ran across:

"You can’t tell working people you’re on their side while at the same time you’re raising money from Wall Street and the billionaire class,” Sanders said. “The Democratic Party has to be focused on grass-roots America and not wealthy people attending cocktail parties.”

Isn't 2020 when redistricting is happening. So if Republicans are still in control of most of the state legislatures as currently....should either be a wash or a gain.
