A balance would probably work better. A little diplomacy would help a few from the other side to realize that working together might help both sides.

Nuclear option. Thank Harry Reid

As much as part of me wants to kick their teeth in while we have them down, and bully our way through our agenda, I'd also rather see us make such substantial changes normally, through regular votes and rules, especially after the way the Democrats rammed ObamaCare down our throats via technicalities and rule changes, and the way many of us wailed and railed about how they did that and how much it was bullshit.

Could and should we instead permanently remove the ability to envoke the nuclear option at all, and permanently make it impossible for anyone to ever do what Pelosi and crew did to get ObamaCare passed, then simply pick good judges for consideration and write truly good legislation that is then debated and voted on normally?

Lead by example, maybe?

This election has proven, again, that all things are cyclical, what comes around goes around, majorities like this will end, super majorities can do too much and go too far, and if you're a tyrant in some fucked up way - that shit will come back on you.

Or do we say fuck it, and strong-arm our way through as much as we can get away with?

Maybe a balance?

What do you think?

^^^ I fear the Dems will not allow a vote on a qualified jurist, especially one in the mold of a Scalia. They have shown themselves to be ideologically intransigent. The nuclear option may well be the only way to get a conservative on the bench. Remember what they did to Robert Bork? and they will have the backing of their pissed off constituents right now. Plus, they have a history:

We should nuke them to repeal it. Gotta love the irony.

NOPE. Every time Republican's take the high road and the moral high ground, it gets used against them and they end up worse off. No negotiations this time around. Elections have consequences. We won. Tough shit.

Play by Dem rules. Eff them. Crush them. Burn their houses. Salt their fields. Never get off their neck.

It's exactly what they would do. No more playing nice. Play to win.

Screw balance.
Screw reaching across the isle.
Screw common goals.

They have shown themselves time and time again over the last 25 years to be nothing but liars and bullies. Vanquish them. Destroy them politically so they NEVER endanger this Great Republic again. Harry Reid is an ass pimple on this nation.

I caught the first few minutes of Shepard Smith today. He talked about the polls, pundit predictions, the MSM, etc, etc. Then he added something like, 'boy are we a bunch of idiots', basically acknowledging they are out of touch and don't know crap. That's all I could stand to watch but I liked hearing him say that. At least he got that part right.

Regarding all Trump's businesses and companies, what will he need to do to eliminate impropriety?

Maybe put his holdings into a trust, and have his kids run Trump Inc. (I believe they actually do anyways). Then gain control after his presidency.

I think the normal practice would be for him to put his properties into a blind trust. However, this is a very unique situation; I'm really not sure how he does it.
