I will guess it won't take but just another minute for the first "I hate professional sports" post.

I really like baseball and this is pure and utter bullshit.

Screw those who cave to it.

I dunno. If it spares us from those hideous faux Indian yells (you know the one I mean) fans holler, so tedious at Indian and Atlanta Brave games, it might be worth while.... lamentable but worthwhile.

I dreaded a World Series between Atlanta and Cleveland, for that reason.

Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me.

When you had the votes, we did things your way. Now, we have the votes and you will be doing things our way. This lesson in political reality from Lyndon B. Johnson

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." - Justice Janice Rogers Brown

I thought the old Milwaukee Braves Indian logo was cool; it’s difficult to understand how that would offend anyone, but then...white liberals—they’re the keeper of the book

Braves fans love the chant. To each their own.

Doubt it. I've yet to meet an someone who is Irish, that objects to that symbol. All of them that I know, including some of my in-laws, take pride in that symbol.

Such a shame!

I always saw it a form of respect, you don't name your team something weak or lame.

Indians were and are I am sure proud people and they put up a ruthless, long fight back in the 1800's but ultimately technology rolled them and they were forcefully dominated.

Naming sports teams after them in the last century to me was a sign of respect.

you could argue that the Redskins name may be suspect but Indians, Braves, etc no way.

Political Correctness is the New Speak that George Orwell warned us about.

Yeah. How about pugilistic Catholics? That is not happening anytime soon. Eventually, the pendulum swings the other way.

I've had (years have passed) personal friends who where full blooded Indians. I never saw any indication of their feeling being hurt over such things. Rather amused actually. Sadly, most of these fake Indians are just that. How many of these don't need to shave? How many of the complainers have tribal numbers?
Whitehorse,Wolfmule,Tallbull.... I miss you guys.

P.S.
I'd heard my grandmother (Father's side) was "part Indian" and felt it was some of that "My grand mother told me" you've heard so often.
Well...my DNA revealed 1%. Hey! This PC and fake
stuff should be Haw-hawed! I can remember when I was a kid people used to Haw-haw these PC kinds of people.
Bring back Haw-haw!

Partially. Chief Wahoo died because of the rampant cowardice of this man.

I am a lifelong Cleveland Indians fan who sent a scathing letter to Paul Dolan reminding him how utterly retarded it would be to eliminate the beloved mascot and cornerstone of the team. Unfortunately, Paul Dolan has no backbone and cowarded to the mob, few of which will ever sit at Progressive Field to watch a game.
