We took a trip to Denali back in the early '80s when I was stationed at Fort Rich. The first NPS bus was full so we got on the second, leaving 30 min later. Us and two others were the only ones on board. Great, knowledgeable driver; had been driving it for years.

He was always 'amused' by the stupid questions the tourists would ask. One question he shared from a tourist was "How much does the mountain weigh?" His response was "With or without snow?".

On one of those rare, cloudless days, I could stand on the front porch of my quarters and see Denali off in the distance.

So glad to see McKinley standing in the sunshine.

Really nice images!

We were there about 3 weeks ago, but our view of Mt McKinley was greatly obscured. At least we are among the 30% to have actually seen it during their visit. Can’t wait to go back.

Not the greatest, but it was too far away for my little 7-200mm zoom in addition to it being obscured by its own weather. Still we were blessed to have been able to see it there inside of Denali NP a few weeks ago.
