So Chris Watts gets life in prison for murdering entire family. Plus an additional 48 years for involuntary termination of an unborn child. Plea bargain. His former wife’s family did not want the death penalty, as that was an option for CO law.

I don't know anything about this case, but anyone who is upset that the guy didn't get the death penalty needs to be aware of the average time on death row in this country.

It's not as if they're gonna take him out back and put a bullet behind his ear today.

Life in prison, or the death penalty. Unless he's a young guy, it's probably all the same.

Furthermore, if he's not on death row, then he's mixing with the general prison population, which means he may get the death penalty the very first day he's there.

And/or suffer “the fate worse than death”. Which he basically deserves... too bad his future fun and games is at taxpayer expense.

This has been a pretty big news item locally. I'm interested to see the autopsy reports that can now be released.

Dude is a lying, murdering POS that deserves the death penalty.

Piece of crap is gonna cost the tax payers a lot of money. Shame. Maybe one of his fellow inmates will take care of him.

Understand that in Colorado the death penalty is a joke. Our current out-going pos governor (and probable future dem presidential candidate) said he'd let the next office holder decide on the future of a current resident of death row (who killed multiple co-workers at a Chuck E Cheese restaurant in Aurora, CO in 1993).

Also the Aurora theater murderer couldn't get the death penalty.

Our incoming gov is more liberal than the outgoing dirt bag so there's no way it will ever get carried out.

Yes, hopefully he'll meet a nice new friend and will stop sucking air.

1997 was the last time an execution took place here, and that asshole truly deserved it.
