Have to print about 1700 pages black and white double sided on some 28lb paper.
Kinkos wanted $220. I am $30 deep in paper. We'll see how ink goes. Thought about buying a cheapo laser printer for the task but figure this old ink jet will do fine, just slow.
All text no pics, quality is not a huge concern just needs to be legible. Just lots of material.

Rey HRHI'm not doing the math for the other side of the equation but $220 into 1700 pages comes to 13 cents per double sided page.
On the other side, figure the ppm of the printer, possible cartridge chance, etc. stapling? collating? or are these just stand-alone hand-bills?
I suppose if you have time and effort to burn...

Jimbo54Are you into self-flagellation as well as torturing yourself. Get the laser printer for around $100 and save the $120 or just suck it up and have Kinkos do it. Geesh!!

Black92LXJust printed an stuck in a binder.
No real time for me. Just click print and let it roll.
At this rate I’ll replace 1 ink cartridge so I am looking about $45 in supplies and maybe 20 minutes of me putting it in the 3 binders.
Simple black and white draft printing. Black cartridge was low when I started it about 500 pages deep and still printing nicely.
Then the real fun begins. Studying!

LimaCharlieI needed ink cartridges yesterday for my five year old HP printer. Replacement cartridges were $108.95. A new replacement for that printer was on sale for $109.95. I have a new printer.

airsoft guyInk is for suckers, laserjet is where it's at. It's got the word "laser"
and "jet" in it.
The other day at work the printer gave me a notice that it was running low on toner, so I decided to burn that shit up, printing out as many log pages as I could. Got like 350 pages before it quit. The guard shack smelled great.

Ouch. Mine uses a different cartridge for each color. Luckily a 2 pack of each color is $16.
Under normal circumstances I switch them out once a year.
