Harley-Davidson Internships
I stumbled across this and thought I'd share with those of you who are students or who may know students who might be interested.

quote:
#FINDYOURFREEDOM INTERNSHIP

Do you hate the idea of interning for 40 hours a week in a cube lit by fluorescent lights? Do you want to grab life by the handlebars and take on the world? Then this is the summer job for you.

This 12-week internship is designed to give you hands-on experience in integrated marketing communications. We’ll teach you to ride, give you a bike and pay you to discover motorcycle culture while you find your freedom on the open road. And at the end of it all, you’ll get to keep a bike*. Yep, you read that right. It’s yours.

Through content you create, you will be helping us fulfill our mission to grow the sport of motorcycling.

So, go ahead, review the job description and show us what FREEDOM means to you. – You can make a video, write an essay, create a photo collage, whatever you want. Get creative and show us what you got and send it to: FreedomInternship@Harley-Davidson.com.

*Conditioned upon passing H-D Riding Academy course and obtaining a motorcycle endorsement within a H-D specified time period.

From Fortune Magazine. Good opportunity for aspiring millenial.

Harley-Davidson is looking for interns, but this position won’t involve fetching any coffee.

Harley-Davidson’s #findyourfreedom internship involves learning how to ride a motorcycle, getting a bike and exploring motorcycle culture by riding across the country. While riding on a motorcycle, interns will also work for Harley-Davidson’s marketing team sharing their journey on social media. Interns will also attend Harley-Davidson events and meetings. They’ll also be asked to create content for Harley-Davidson’s social media pages including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Snapchat.

At the end of the internship, interns will also get a motorcycle to keep as long as they finish the H-D Riding Academy course and receive their motorcycle endorsement.

The job is open to junior and senior year college students and recent graduates looking to enter the social media field and lasts 12 weeks. You’ll also need to make a video, write an essay or create a photo collage to apply. More information can be found on Harley-Davidson’s website.

If only I could remember how to make a fake drivers license, I might now try to be younger... just not sure over 50 is gonna squeeze by as a college kid any more.

HD is suffering because their market target is graying and dying off and the youth market are disinterested in HD bikes. They are trying many things to get the newer generations on board. This sounds like one of them.

Can’t blame Harley, really. They’re just trying to get more riders on their bikes. But it’s not just demographics hurting them. There are a lot better bikes for less money on the market. Not to mention, Harleys don’t hold their value as well as they have in the past.

They are taking college age kids, giving them an introduction to riding course, giving them a HD motorcycle, and then sending them out across the country to represent the company.

What could possibly go wrong?

HD doesn’t really make anything I’d want to ride. If HD were actually serious about attracting new riders and younger riders they would pay attention to Ducati and build something exciting.

HD should make V twins fun again.

Yeah, Harley's are old man bikes. They need something fun to hook newer generations with. They could have capitalized on the cafe/retro trend, but they sat with their thumbs up their rears.
