I know this forum is secure. I just switched to the Brave Browser, after using Safari or DuckDuckGo (for mobile).

Anyhow when I started on Sigforum moments ago I found the following and I'm wondering if Google has been tracking me on Sigforum all this time. I'm trying like hell to Google from my life.

These go to eleven.

I don't know much about this stuff, but I do know this isn't a "secure" site, i.e., the address prefix (imprecise but descriptive) is HTTP, no S on the end. Does that have anything to do with it?

I'm using the latest Safari on macOS Big Sur.
It has a privacy tracker feature similar to what the OP showed:
Google-analytics attempted to track, Safari prevented it.
AFAIK Apple (despite its Leftist leanings and freezing out Parler, which is awful) has the best and most widely used privacy protection systems, and they are getting more aggressive at it.
So leaving Apple, for the foreseeable future, would be a real mistake IMO.

With the banning of Parler, Apple is actively silencing conservative voice. There is zero reason other than politics to do this. I have lots of Apple products and really love them. It will be virtually impossible to completely remove them from my life. But I am trying my damndest to remove giving any profit to these companies in any way I can.

Not what frayedends is talking about, no.

Yes, they are, and so is Google, so where is one to turn?

Phones and tablets: There is no place, short of dropping back to flip phones and dropping tablets entirely. Since my wife and I use, literally use our smart phones for way more than just phones, that would be more than impractical.

Some people might be inclined to suggest, at this point, "well, you did without them before, so...?" Problem is: Back then relatively little was Internet-based. Now nearly everything is. Among other things this means having to maintain dozens of on-line account credentials. Unless you're going to keep that stuff recorded a dead tree material (and good luck with that), a digital keyring is now rather necessary.

Streaming devices: There's Apple, Android, and Roku. That's it. It's already been shown Apple vs. Android is a wash from a political PoV, so that leaves Roku. Problem is: Our whole-house OTA TV and DVR solutions aren't supported on Roku.

My Apple Watch: Yup. That one I could give up. I could go back to a plain old watch for time-keeping and a Polar heart rate monitor for workouts.

So that's one relative minor device of all the personal and home electronics we use. And I just bought this new one a month or so ago.

Almost forgot one: Apple+. I suppose when the free trial is up we could dump that. But I've already dumped Amazon Prime. We're eventually going to run out of choices. Nonetheless: I, too, am trying to deny these people as much profits as possible, so it's a candidate.

Another: My expanded iCloud storage at 99¢/month. I could drop that. Just have to delete a bunch of photos. That would be easy.
