One of my engineers just got his firearms permit and had a choice of pistols. They gave him 30 minutes to make a choice. I don't get why. The M17, 365 or a Glock 43. So guess which one we decided on. The 365! I asked him to describe exactly what he plans on doing as he carries one. My security in Israel ALWAYS carries concealed. Anyway, I'm arranging for him to be stateside next month and we'll do additional pistol training here at CasaCockatoo. He who fights with monsters might take care lest he thereby become a monster.

I have no idea how he plans on carrying. His has a safety. The empty chamber is for if the gun is taken, whoever has it won't know it's unloaded. Gives them a slight chance. Almost no soldiers carry a pistol. Only a carbine. None of my engineers that were IDF had ever touched a pistol. This one trained with me 5 years ago. I agree with that choice, a Sig P365 over an M17 and Glock 43, and would not need 30 minutes to make it. ______________________________________________________________ Common sense is no longer simply uncommon. It is rare these days.

All the colleagues I've queried over there have Glock 19's. The consistency surprised me.
