Amazing that he survived. They found the remains of the tractor still inside what was left of the trailer. I’m putting a few of the pictures up, you should go to the link and check out the thread for more details and pics. https://www.facebook.com/group...nk/2258421104202282/ This is where he went off the cliff: A snow plow driver came thru later that night and saw this and decided to call 911. Here’s the truck as they found it: The mountain rescue team descending to the truck: This is what he was wearing – survived the night and the walk out The map of where the wreck occurred and his route out of there “Facts are stubborn things; and whatever may be our wishes, our inclinations, or the dictates of our passions, they cannot alter the state of facts and evidence.” - John Adams

I hope they find the shitbag that wrecked him, cost him $100 grand, and nearly killed him. Nothing beats a Carhart jacket. You could be on Mars yet be safe and snug inside one. As for the man in the posting, with my personal history of near-death experiences, I think I'm well positioned to offer this observation: God loves him and his mission on Earth a great deal. Now if only he and I can figured out what God wants done, we can get 'er done and avoid these crazy experiences. That's one hell of a ride! Maybe Ford will step up with a new truck for advertising rights. Where did this occur?

Here is the spot on Google Maps: https://www.google.com/maps/@4...,2199m/data=!3m1!1e3 Dude's lucky as hell that snowplow driver called the police and somebody found him, because there is very, very little up there resembling civilization for a long ways in any direction.

Washington state... Ah, I see 380Swift posted the location from Google maps. He was very fortunate indeed! “Facts are stubborn things; and whatever may be our wishes, our inclinations, or the dictates of our passions, they cannot alter the state of facts and evidence.” - John Adams

He was pulling a four-horse trailer? I assume from the lack of mention that there were no horses in it.

Correct - no horses in trailer, he was using it to haul his John Deere tractor. “Facts are stubborn things; and whatever may be our wishes, our inclinations, or the dictates of our passions, they cannot alter the state of facts and evidence.” - John Adams

Highway 12. I've driven that plenty in the semi. There are some steep cliffs. I'd stay in my lane and take my chances with a head-on before I'd take a 1000ft ride off the cliff. Exactly what I was thinking, vehicles are designed to take a head on, a 1000 foot leap off a mountain not so much. Glad he made it out with only minor injuries. ΜΟΛΩΝ ΛΑΒΕ

That looks like a extended cab and I think the body has much aluminum in it. I bet that takes up impacts better than all steel. He is blessed to be alive. A local Fireman told me if fire happens to those trucks, they can burn down to the frame. I cant imagine taking such a plunge.

I feel like ford should step in and take care of a new truck for him. ________________________________________________

They didn't start doing aluminum in the superduty until 2017, that was a pre-17 truck, so still all steel I think. Either way I wouldn't want to take that ride, and I'm surprised at how well it held up. “Government exists to protect us from each other. I was thinking that as well. It was mentioned on his page, so he addressed it: “Facts are stubborn things; and whatever may be our wishes, our inclinations, or the dictates of our passions, they cannot alter the state of facts and evidence.” - John Adams

A Grateful American |
A young man who works for the DOT plowing the roads, was on his way home and noticed the break in the snow bank at the edge of that curve, and stopped, looked but over the bank but it was too dark to see anything, and he called 911, "just in case". Take this as a lesson, that it is better to make a call and risk embarrassment over someone calling you out over "fear" or whatnot, but you never know when another's life depends on you being selfless. Glad the guy made it. And through all of it, he was concerned for people he did not know in another vehicle. I wonder if they realize their good fortune. One can hope.
