Boston Mayor offers condolences to the criminal
Another tragic example of Liberal thinking -
From judicialrecap.com

“An off-duty police officer killed who police said was an attempted stabber during an altercation in a Chick-fil-A on Boylston Street in Boston on Saturday. The attacker tried to stab two people before he was shot.”

Democrat New York city council member Robert Holden said his “party has lost the plot” over Wu’s remarks.
“Democrats have become the party of criminals. Here’s the mayor of Boston offering condolences to the criminal who was trying to stab multiple people and refused to drop his weapon when ordered by an off-duty cop,” Holden posted. “My party has lost the plot — this is madness.”

Boston has drifted very far from the Boston Tea Party days. So long as the citizens vote for this, they get what they deserve. Boston is not alone, we see it all too often elsewhere.

Apparently this is what the mayor said, according to an article on Fox News' website:

"My condolences, and all of our thoughts, are with the family of the individual whose life has been lost," Wu said. "And I'm also thinking of all the people who were impacted here today in one of the busier parts of the city with this tragedy."

"I'm glad that the officer is safe and very grateful for a quick response from all of our first responders here again," she said.

I watched a video of the incident in which the mayor, the DA, and a third, unidentified man (perhaps a city councilman) all offered condolences for the knife wielding attacker.

Glad the officer escaped injury.

Two out of three speakers, one of which was the mayor, offered condolences to the family of the deceased attacker. Only one offered condolences to the deceased attacker himself, which I am not sure is even grammatically correct; he may have meant to the family.

I don't think it's especially woke to offer condolences to the family of the deceased in these circumstances; merely politically correct. Perhaps the man was mentally deranged and estranged from his family. Who knows? Would they not merit condolences? The mayor offered appropriate comments for the would-be victims and the heroic officer.

I am not making this comment to defend these leaders in Boston. I understand they're dinguses. I do want to condemn the sensationalist presentation of the matter by the media, social media, and by the original poster here on SF. We dig at the left when they present things in a sensationalist manner, or omit relevant details. We shouldn't do it ourselves.

Bottom line is that Wu a disaster, but not the worst. With the exception of Ed Flynn, the city counsel is a band of DEI crooks.

You're not wrong, however what's happened with the woke-types is the public impression they put-out is a carefully planned semantics one.
She covered all the basis, didn't say anything overtly supportive however, what irks people is she made sure to acknowledge the assailant first, providing a moderate length word-salad of 'concern'; then proceeds to mention the victims and officer in a single-follow up sentence. This is nothing new, it's all planned and thought-out amongst far-left politicos, lots of heartfelt spiritual-retreat rich statements of empathy.

This was another coordinated speech by all the officials that are trying to hold onto the only remaining constituents they have.
Although many voters there think the same way, anyone with any reasoning power is starting to get the picture.

It's unfortunate any died but the full blame is on the attacker and his choices. For the leaders making comments about condolences, I have no issue but the problem arises that Wu made the comments first about the knife wielding criminal and then to any involved. She is not a good representative of what a leader should be but this we know.

She should have mentioned the officer first and be thankful there are those who will put their lives on the line 24/7 and this officer came forward to save lives. Next should have been the potential victims and lastly she should have mentioned that the criminal got shot/killed because of his actions and should have condemned those actions. Condolences to the family should have been last and quick. She is a pathetic excuse for someone in office of any kind.

I agree that the order in which things were addressed was wrong.

She's also the same mayor who had a holiday party for "people of color" only, white people not invited.

These people, these elected officials, are sociopaths. Absolutely heartless, uncaring sociopaths.
