Is it better to limit the calibers in your collection?
I've never considered being limited in any way to be better.

I understand your question in your OP Mark, but just saying in general.

If simplifying makes you happier then by all means do that.

Just remember, ARs don't have to limit you to 5.56, either. It's a good place to start, but the possibilities are endless. I currently have 2 in 5.56 (one "working" carbine and an M16 clone), one in 9mm, and one in .22LR. I had a 6.5 Grendel at one point, which was a cool round but I was only using it to punch paper out to 200 yards and 5.56 can do the same thing for a lot less money. My buddy has recently done builds in .224 Valkyrie and .458 Socom, and a different buddy just picked up a CMMG Banshee in 10mm. Then if you want to get into suppressors, .300 blackout has a lot of appeal. The AR platform is a gateway drug to caliber proliferation!

Exactly.
Add .223 Remington to the ammo mix if one wants to shoot an AR15 accurately.
