I'm going with the click theory. Seriously. When I had an intructor who was good at helping students find the "switch" about the overall picture or the beauty of the subject itself, everything starts to fall into place (based on my experience, no personal credentials on the subject). This is especially true for people with Aspergers. Asperger people are good at drilling down into the muck and details of a thing, but can get hung up getting the first shovel full to penetrate the surface of an otherwise hard ground. Lots of smart, brilliant, and famous people have the condition. I'd say it's not a disease per se but a more or less natural condition, some more some less. Those with more stuggle more, those with less struggle less but still struggle. I like to think of it as a gift of sorts in some circumstances. Maybe you could learn a little about the methematics involved yourself, and research different ways of explaining it to her. If she is able to relax and converse about it, you (she) might hit the jackpot. Lover of the US Constitution Wile E. Coyote School of DIY Disaster | |||
