oddballTexas vs. The Feds in Border control, Texas takes over
Gov. Abbott has deployed the Texas National Guard to Eagle Pass and have occupied a park and about 50 acres of a river bank where the Feds were allowing most of the illegal alien border crossings. They have fenced off the area, reinstalled the barbed wire, and have banned the Feds from the area.

A public park in the South Texas border town of Eagle Pass has been taken over by the state to prevent migrants from illegally crossing the Rio Grande, and that will likely cancel a weekend memorial service to honor migrants who died trying to cross the Southwest border.
Eagle Pass Mayor Rolando Salinas, in a social media post Wednesday night, said Texas Department of Public Safety officials and Texas National Guard have put up a gate and sealed off Shelby Park.
That’s where a ceremony was to be held on Saturday afternoon to remember the migrants who died in 2023 trying to cross the Southwest border...
“They are taking full control, custody of Shelby Park,” Salinas said. “In talking to the state, they say their mission is to prevent another mass amount of people from crossing, so now they have this operation.”
However, Salinas notes that the number of migrants trying to illegally cross the border from Piedras Negras, Mexico, has dropped significantly in the past several days. Officials say it’s down from over 4,000 per day to about 400 per day.

quote:
The Border Patrol union confirmed to Fox News that agents were being blocked from entering by Texas soldiers, and praised Abbott for taking matters into his own hands.
"Governor Abbott is not harming Border Patrol operations, he is enhancing them," National Border Patrol Council Brandon Judd said in a statement. "His seizing control of Shelby Park allows our agents to deploy to troubled spots that experience high numbers of gotaways. Governor Abbott’s actions should be seen as a force multiplier."
https://www.foxnews.com/politi...gal-immigrant-surgesThe irony is that Gov. Abbott and the Texas National Guard are following federal immigration laws while Biden and Democrats are egregiously breaking them.

83v45magnaTexas knows if the DOJ sues, the Supremes would look pretty silly ruling in the Feds favor since they are breaking Federal laws on a wholesale level while the state is trying to follow federal statutes.

gearhoundsGotta start somewhere. While it took too long to happen, I do t consider it too late in the sense that Abnot is sending a message to the criminal fed- “No more!”. Hopefully other states follow suit when it stands, and a precedent is set for the future. Otherwise these invaders will continue to flood our nation until there isn’t a nation to flood anymore.
