I tend to just wear boots [Ariat western style] when I fly commercial. My feet tend to swell a little & makes lace up shoes uncomfortable for anything over about an hour flight.

Also, we're flying Spirit on an out & back 1-night CA trip in Dec. First non-United/Southwest flight I've been on in over a decade.

Many years back my wife's company always flew us First Class on business trips. You were expected to be dressed , usually with a jacket and tie, More so because we represented her company. But airlines had a first class dress code.

I've flown extra casual, shorts & flops, especially in the heat of summer, but it's not my norm.

When they stop patting my nut sack and improve sanitation on the planes, I'll dress better. Until then, it's sweats or an old flannel shirt and pajama bottoms I can wash easily when I arrive. And the baggage situation is unreal. On the rare occasions I travel now, I carry a small bag and mail additional clothing, etc to my destination.

Don’t were a nice watch. Last time I flew Spirit, the person seated next to me saw my watch and questioned my choice of airline and seat. I didn’t actually pick the seat, because that costs extra, which is how I wound up way in the back where you can see the whole show better. I mean were else can $50 take you from Detroit to Fort Myers with free entertainment?

Raise ticket prices on legacy airlines and keep the garbage bag carryon flip flop wearing on the other low cost carriers.

I don't fly often but had to the other day to pick up my son in another state, as he was sick and couldn't make it home on his own. I saw a couple people/adults, flying in pajamas and slippers, which for the life of me, I don't know why some people don't have respect for themselves and how they look. It really is getting ridiculous but as far as dressing up, how about actual pants and a nice shirt. I don't think we need to go full "business attire/suits/etc.".

What bothers me more is the selfishness of people and their carry on bags just slamming them around into the upper bins and smacking around other peoples things/belongings. That and being polite while exiting in a human fashion, not pushing your way out as fast as you can.
