It looks like the Trump Administration and Veterans Affairs Secretary, Dr. Dave Shulkin, are draining the swamp...publishing a list of "adverse employee actions" taken since 1/20/2017.

A good start, I'd say:

I hope it sticks, but 'Removal' could be anything from terminated to reassigned to a lower rated job.

The 'only' solution to the VA is to close it completely and offer our veterans the opportunity to pick their own doctors from private industry. There's simply too much wrong with the VA to attempt to fix it. Its an organization that's survived way beyond its original need.

The VA is rotten to the foundation. Replacing individuals is just window dressing.

An excellent idea, and one that needs addressed immediately.
But my fear is Congress will disband and cut off the VA completely, then drag their feet implementing private care for vets for years. I believe strongly that they do not care for veterans, and will ignore us. And yes; I know there are veterans who serve in Congress and are willing to do for their fellow vets. There isn't enough of them with clout.

I'm going to be really careful about what I say, as I like my job. My VA got a new director. If you sneeze wrong he will handle you, personally. If the rest of the VA is like mine, the ship will right itself pretty quickly.

I would love that. Right now I need to go to the VA and get glasses. I called last week to get a appointment to get my eyes check. BUT because I don't have a Primary Care Dr. I can't have a appointment until I do.
I don't want to go to the Dr. I just want my damn eyes checked and glasses.
I would have to make the appointment with the PC and wait for it but go one week before for lab work then go back to the PC and then ask him/her for a referral and then wait for that. It's a 60 mile round trip each time.
I told the woman on the phone to forget about it I'll keep wearing my Dollar General glasses if I want to see anything close up or read. I guess I'll save up or a outside the VA exam.

I visit the VA's in Minneapolis. Maybe I am among the lucky fortunate, but I could not imagine a cleaner, streamlined, and patient friendly hospital setting.

At my VA it is preferred that you have a PC Dr before the eye clinic appointments, but it's not necessary. My eye clinic supervisor says that you should first try calling the national appointment number to schedule - 800.827.1000. If you have already done that, the next option is to either go to the customer service/patient advocate area of your VA or straight to the Director.

Hope that helps.
