Had to sit in some of my corporate "everything is racist and transphobia" course. Had a new one thrown in...

The phrase "preferred pronouns" is now a bad thing, because it implies they "prefer" to be this way, and doesn't acknowledge their personal truth of what they ARE, not what they Prefer to be.

Dear lord what a bunch of BS.

Well I guess we need to lose the LGB from the alphabet people then, because to be bi implies there are only 2 sexes, and the L and G imply there are defined genders and you are attracted to one of them that is the same as yours, but gender is a spectrum and cant be defined so how dare they say that.

Don't weep for the stupid, or you will be crying all day

It's a good thing I retired . The company I worked for was headed down that road and there was no way I could have conformed . They even redesigned the company logo to " better reflect who we are " or some such bullshit . It has a subtle " rainbow " color scheme in it . I heard they built a quiet room for people to go and do whatever .
I was already on HR's shitlist because I told the instructor in a diversity class that I refused to use the term " African American " or any other hyphenated racial description until they made it universal across the board . I'm European American but he didn't want any part of that discussion .

AMEN, selogic!!! I'm Italian-American! Wasn't born in Italy and have never stepped foot in Italy, but if we're gonna do all this hyphenated bullshit, then that's how I'm gonna be addressed.

There is definitely a big pushback building and it's great.

I work for a very large company and they posted this article about "microaggressions" and "microbehaviors" at work recently and how we are not allowed to dare offend the snowflake Millennial and Zoomer generation workers and the reaction to it in the comments section on our internal news website was actually refreshing to see. People are TIRED of having this nonsense shoved down our throats in the name of diversity, equity and inclusion and they aren't putting up with it like they used to.

Man it is starting to feel like the only goal here is to keep everyone off balance and not knowing what is acceptable and what isn't.

Adaptive pronouns, microaggressions and behaviors is all a bunch of made up nonsense.

You know why they are so sensitive to every detail orbiting their claims? They know it’s a lie and cannot bear scrutiny nor dissent.

I’d say that if you find yourself asking a person’s pronouns, preferred or otherwise, you’ve already surrendered to the insanity.

I have enough trouble remembering someone's name - let alone their "pronouns." If you are that sensitive about it, better wear a sign around your neck.

Anyone that insists that I use specific pronouns are people I refuse to communicate with.

This shit is why I decided a year ago to retire a couple years earlier than I'd planned on. That plus the fact that Oregon was at the time approaching the edge of the steep part of the slope sliding down into the lefty abyss. They're well and truly established on that ride now.

They gave us a list of suggested pronouns to use in our email signatures and when communicating with customers. Some people used them, most didn't. Almost all of the ones who did, were women.

Right after the George Floyd thing blew up, they created a new DEIA department, with a newly created Senior VP position to lead it. For that job they brought in a black woman who had a long history of pushing DEI crap. They introduced mandatory indoctrination sessions and minimum quarterly "self study" requirements (without impacting your regular duties, of course). They published a list of suggested reading materials with titles like "Why Not Being Racist Isn't Enough". I spent the last 18 months of my career there being told that I'm a racist. And WHY am I a racist? Because I'm white, that's why.

Several years earlier one of our engineers did the whole TS thing. Paul became Paula. They drug us all into a conference room and explained that Paula would be living and working as a woman, that he would be using the women's restrooms, and that any jokes, harassment, bullying, or snickering would be cause for immediate termination. So "Paula" starting showing up to work wearing makeup, and lower cut tops and shorter skirts than any of the real women ever wore to work. I figured, if he wants to be called Paula, fine. But I refused to ever refer to him as "she" or "her". Oh yeah, he was married at the time, with a kid. Poor kid.

And don't even get me started on the idiotic no-weapons policy, violation of which was also cause for immediate termination.

When I had my exit interview, I told them calmly and in detail all the reasons I was getting out. The woman who did the interview seemed to actually understand what I was saying. Lots of head nodding and "I understand"'s. Whether that was real or she was a good actor, I can't say. Will anything change there as a result? Doubtful. The CEO is a true blue dyed in the wool lefty, even though he is a white guy.

Independent life insurance agent here. And this bullshit is probably the main reason I will never again work for the man. I answer to no one. And every single life insurance application asks "gender at birth." They don't give a shit how you feel or what you think you are. Gender at birth is a predictor of life expectancy. The confused folks should be thankful their gender identity is not yet considered a mental illness by life insurance actuaries. That day is probably coming. And those guys are pretty good oddsmakers.

From the sounds of it, claiming to change one's gender is a predictor of a shorter expectancy either from surgical complications and/or mental state.

I had to look up the actual definition . God help us all .
What Is a Microaggression?
A microaggression is a subtle, often unintentional, form of prejudice. Rather than an overt declaration of racism or sexism, a microaggression often takes the shape of an offhand comment, an inadvertently painful joke, or a pointed insult. For example, a person might comment that an Asian American employee speaks English well. Another might ask where an American Indian student is from. A woman may cross the street when she sees an African American man walking toward her at night.

They are making scrutiny or dissent a criminal act so as to discourage it .
