So apparently, Russia has term limits written into their constitution. The president can serve 2 consecutive terms. They used to be 4 year terms, but are now 6 year terms. He is in his second 6 year term. He is pushing to reset his term limit clock saying Russia needs "stability". This would be a one time thing and only affect him.

More info here.

He is a murderer and criminal. It is doubtful that Russia is better off with him at the helm. We see what he allows us to see. It is mostly propaganda and lies. How much wealth have he and cronies taken and at what cost?

Have a drink with him but keep forces on high alert just the same? If Alaska was unprotected he'd be across the strait in fifteen minutes.

I've never even heard of a Dicktater that's likeable.

He's the devil we know, on his best day.

Wouldn't even trust him to park my car, mow my lawn, or clean my pool.

He's a spy, and there is little to no doubt he is also much much worse.

But it makes more sense to work with him, so we should.

Yes. He's a powerful man who loves his country. What's not to like?

Don't do things to be his enemy.

His country is near bankrupt, his policies are foreboding and he’s still a spy. I really can’t believe any American can have ANY admiration for him. He’s your fu**ing enemy.

Like? I don't know.

Respect? Yes.
He's intelligent, sharp, and one tough SOB.

Trust? Hell no!

Commie, Killer, Spy, and then some, yes.
However, I wouldn't mind having a drink with the man, just to see what's going on inside his head.

This guy would never let on what he is thinking or feeling. He works too hard on projecting a macho image with all his staged photoshoots. He is KGB through and through. People are afraid of him for good reason. I cannot remember when Russia had a benovolent ruler. Of course he looks good compared to Stalin and Ivan the Terrible. The CIA has quite the folder on this guy. He is not our friend in any way.

"An all-right guy"? In addition to being a murderer, he's manipulated elections to the point that elections are meaningless, he's fed the fires of a war in Syria and created four or five permanent brush wars in Eastern Europe that continue to kill people just because Vlad's in a snit about centuries' worth of well-known Russophobia, his only real allies are the remnants of the KGB, organized criminals and Chechen geeks who practice naked autocracy and think of 14-year-old girls as fuckable personal property, he'll cheerfully spend the lives of Russian sailors "just to make a point" by killing people in wars that have nothing to do with Russia, he'll let thousands die just because it's convenient for him to test weapons of mass destruction near civilian centers and Russia's borders with the West (remember, kids, airborne poisons and nuclear fallout inevitably drift west because the world spins east), he's the big sugar daddy for any number violent, unjust and oppressive regimes like those controlling Venezuela, Cuba, Belorussia and Khirgyztan...do I really need to go on in order for you to get the idea that you've got one hell of a lot of reading and thinking to do before you can argue that Putin's an "all-right" guy?
