My yard is only 30 X 50, so I clean up every evening, lest my dog accidentally step in his own poop while running around.
When someone else is going to mow the lawn, I make sure the lawn is free of "landmines" in the morning.

Depends on where the work is in relation to the poop.

A good example occurred last week. Our electric/gas company is converting their meters to digital Wi-Fi readout and the installer called that he was on his way to change it out. He had to cross our backyard to do it so I quickly scooped up the brown landmines before he arrived. It's nothing more than a simple courtesy.

Our Maltese/Bichon is 12 lbs. her pasture pies vaporize quickly. No bigger than a tootsie roll, dry dog food.
Our neighbors Great Dane on the other hand, geezy Joe! If you visually miss the pile, & squish a lump. You don’t have to check your shoes, the stench tells you there’s a mess. Lord, what has that boy been eating?!

My yard is 5 acres. My 2 dogs spread it out well. My mulching mower blows it up.

My yard gets daily poop-scoopin'-duty.
The yards guys come Tuesday afternoon.
ALWAYS shovel up right before.
It's simply a matter of decency. I hate stepping in dog crap. I assume everyone else does, as well.

We have about 150’x 75’ inside the fence in the back yard. We have 2 Boxers. We pick up the poop daily and always when we walk them. Who wants dog poop laying around in their yard. Right now I’m having to “examine” the poop to make sure some pieces of toy are passing...

We pick up our dog's poop immediately after she goes, every single time. We also did this for our previous dog. I HATE dog shit on the lawn.

if I have contractor(s) come over (say to put in a fence or remove a tree), it's removed.
If I have a mowing service show up once a week or every other week, I consider it his yob to do the doo doo.
j/k - my wife picks it up every other day or three.

This may seem OCD, but back when I had a lot of ground cover in my backyard, I'd plant one of those little marker flags like you see at construction sites, at every pile, so I could find it when it was time to clean up, and otherwise to avoid it.
The ground cover has been replaced by St. Augustine, but I still use the flags. Makes it easy for after dark cleanup, and also, for when have to go out in the middle of the night, and don't have my contacts in.
Point being, the few times I haven't picked up for the yard guys, I'd leave the flags in place, so they could see where to be careful.

This is what we do. I don't like stepping in it and I don't like it on my lawn mower wheels.
The city also has an ordinance that states that more than 6 (if I recall correctly) piles in your yard can get you fined.

Great minds think alike.I have 4 pvc holders attached to my chain link fence to hold my marker flags.

I live there and have never once stepped in our dogs poo. Don't know how he does it, but it's very well hidden and spread out. I voted no.
I wouldn't do anything to make the yard cleaner than I would do for myself. If I had a dog that messed the yard to the point that I couldn't use it easily - then yes, I'd clean it for me and therefore for contractors as well...

I cut my own grass and clean up before mowing. I still occasionally splat a well hidden land mine.
When I cut commercial I would occasionally find lots of unique things trimming under the really low limbs of certain trees. Bottles might speckle your shins in blood but poop will ruin your day.

And I bet the city actually employs a person to go around and count the piles.
I clean up before mowing every week. Come during the week and you'll need to watch where you walk.
