Dull knock at the door at 10:00 PM...
So tonight I'm in the front bedroom that is now my home office along with being the gun room. And I hear a dull sorta knock at the front door, then I hear another.

I'm thinking, what is the UPS guy working overtime dropping packages close to the door this late? Usually I hear the drop even if they don't knock or ring the bell. So I open the door, no one there, no packages either.

But there was a frog. Right at the threshold facing the doorway. Must have hopped into the door and hit his head a couple times. I used my foot to move him away and he didn't jump. Kinda just sat there. Left him alone and he left during my conference call.

Nothing major, just very odd.

Last summer I was sitting outside on the lawn watching the sunset and had a frog land on me. Must've jumped off the roof. Scared the hell out of me.

Or it got dropped by a bird.

Speaking of, I heard a loud bang on my second story office window a little over an hour ago. I went and looked, didn’t see anything. Then I looked down and there’s a starling on the front wiper blade of my tuck with its head lolling around. I just checked again and it’s gone. Must’ve knocked itself senseless. Surprised it lived, given how hard it must have hit.

A few weeks ago there were two Tom turkeys fighting next to the house, creating a ruckus.

We have a male cardinal pecking at the window over his reflection, often.

I usually just let our barky shepherd check things out.

Birds are tough critters for sure. On a motorcycle trip I picked up a small bird between the fork and fender. I set it aside and after we had a break a buddy said "hey the bird is gone. He must have woke up and flew off".
