Bradley (Chelsea) Manning to be released next week
UPDATE: While the appeal for the court-martial progresses, he/she will remain on active duty, albeit unpaid. Will still have access to medical, commissary, and exchanges.

How can it be on active duty but be upaid?

Clean the men's latrine with a toothbrush and thimble of water.

The Military, where your employer can fine you, jail you, and put you to death.

Thank goodness it's not more widespread, as far as jobs go. Smile

He has an appeal in. When it's denied he's out. Were it approved, he'd remain on active duty. While he remains on active duty I expect he'll be assigned to a replacement unit and told to go home. To check in every so often. No doubt between his lawyers and liberals, he'll be taken care of.

Sadly, he'll probably get a book/movie deal... sigh...
