Ignored facts still exist |
It saddens me that our elderly population seems to fall for this. I've seen a close elderly family member fall for the "Sweepstakes Winner" scam. .

OK. The "transfer" screen window was so bad - it was just a command line.

What I love is the utter delusion of the scammer in the posted video. The "victim" says "First, you were going to take 260,000 dollars from me, but now, you'll settle for 60,000 dollars. Why is that?" This asshole then has the cast iron balls to say "Because I am a good person." Outrageous. Bitch, you don't have the first idea what is a "good person" and you need to be beaten so severely, you'll shit in a bag for the rest of your life, and never again walk. Thinking that the "victim" was an elderly woman, you threatened to murder her husband. You're the lowest form of thieving trash. ____________________________________________________ "I am your retribution." - Donald Trump, speech at CPAC, March 4, 2023

Yes I had to take control of my mom's finances, get all her mail delivered at my house, and more to prevent this kind of thing. She tried to make an international debit card payment to pay "shipping and handling" for a "free' WalMart gift card after getting a post card in the mail. The bank intervened, cancelled the card, and issued a new one, which alerted me. Then I found she was writing $5 and $10 checks to every "charity" solicitation she received, like they were bills. Give money to one "save the social security" scam, and then you get a dozen more with different letterhead. And buying utter garbage from Publisher's Clearinghouse. Their entire business depends on scamming elderly to buy crap to improve their odds of winning the big sweepstakes. If my mom had a computer and email or a smart phone I have no idea what she would do. It's bad enough she can be called by the scammers on the phone still.

These scum pray on peoples sense of decency, the elderly, and those that are not technically savvy. Basically I contact you and tell you that I want to refund you some money for something you never purchased in the first place. I will get on your computer and have you login to your bank account. I will "process" your refund. I will open the developer tool kit in your browser and modify the html to make it look like I deposited $4000 instead of $400. I will guilt you into going to elaborate lengths to buy gift cards to return the amount I over paid you. Looks like I type way too slow I do computer repair on the side, and you wouldn't believe the amount of people that get snookered by these people. Had a good customer get cheated out of 2K in gift cards. I couldn't believe this person fell for it. "We've done four already, but now we're steady..."

"Steve" was the textbook definition of apoplectic. Hopefully he will get scammed by scambusters so much that he winds up having to fight off baboons while digging for his next meal in a Calcutta trash heap. ____________________________ Eeewwww, don't touch it!
