I'm so sorry. My condolences. I wish that I had words to comfort you but I don't. Know that you are in my prayers.

It can be really crushing Steve, I still often think of my pets that have went over the bridge. Sometimes those thoughts just come at random but never ever forgotten. RIP and Godspeed sweet Claire, there are no other like you...

So very sorry for your loss, Steve.

It hurts so much to lose them, but they make us better people.

That we can help them to not suffer is a blessing, as hard as it is for us.

No...it doesn't get any easier. Just shows the heart and soul that you have. Be thankful for the times you've had with Claire and know that she's no longer suffering. With each of our dogs I very much miss them all, but I'm very glad that I got to know and love them.

I'm very sorry for your loss. Please accept my condolences. We've got many good friends on the other side to meet her.

Been there. My heart goes out to you. Take your time to grieve, then get back on the bike and get yourself a pup. It never gets easier. But a new pup sure turns the sorrow into joy.

Sorry to hear that Steve. Losing friends never gets easier, but at least the heartache reminds you how much love was there in the first place.

So sorry to hear. I think of my dogs too when they'll eventually die. I saw them react when their mother died just last year. They were whimpering and one was uncontrollably bobbing her head. It seemed like she was sobbing and if she could, tears would have been streaming down her face.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

I'm so sorry for your loss! The void of her presence is undeniable, but so is the fact that you and her shared such a long and loving relationship within your pack. I can only pray that another pup will be blessed as she was and become a member of your household. Claire was very fortunate and she blessed your home. Another dog won't replace her, but may help your heart heal.
