This happened about 15 miles from me and is not the first time I’ve heard about this kind of behavior from other SF members near me.

How could two Chechens of military age possibly get into the country in the first place? It's a puzzler all right!

This is the most interesting statement in the article to me.

“The FBI tells Fox News the Bureau has not opened a counterintelligence investigation and that, "The local investigation has not uncovered evidence of a federal crime”.

They’re probably too busy targeting conservative, law abiding citizens where there is no evidence of a crime…

Daraev's family launched a Change.org petition called "Justice for Ramzan Daraev" which has already received more than 11,000 signatures adding, "Ramzan left Russia, not realizing that the greatest injustice against him would be done in a free country where in theory he should have received protection."

well, geewhiz

all the hallmarks of trying to gain intelligence on a Special Forces operator, near a highly secure base, near power lines

thats almost the trifecta of entirely suspicious activity

based on what I read, it was a good shoot

Army CID is involved and they're a hell of a lot more professional than the FBI.

When they come down our drive in MI, the utility guys are noticeably quick to show their IDs. The holds true for just about everyone who visits in an official capacity.

Christopher Ray testified before Congress that white nationalists were the the greatest threat to America. If these two had been wearing Trump hats outside of Fannie's house the whole weight of the Federal government would be investigating. Or if they were photographing a local school board meeting.

The FBI is nothing but a left wing gestapo..

Utility worker? Chechen? Gee, what could go wrong there. A terrorist dream job:

1. Access to power lines, stations, sub-stations of an already very fragile power grid.

2. Access to maps from other power and other utility companies (they do so they can respond to assist with wide spread power outages, I asked a friend who does this work).

Well, that is interesting and what is even more interesting is I had a run in with a Chechen that claimed to be a power company contractor last summer.
He spoke about zero English was in a power company truck had no ID for the company or himself and I called the company and they confirmed he was part of their crew. I am pretty sure they too were based out of New Jersey.
He was not doing anything wrong just sleeping in the passenger side of the truck that had rolled out of its parking spot while he was snoozing.
So there was not really much to look into or follow up with at the time.
We have a Special Forces unit here and some super duper secret Lockheed stuff.

Navy Commander: We’re Seeing More Attempts by Foreign Nationals to Penetrate Bases, ‘Two or Three Times a Week’

https://www.breitbart.com/clip...-three-times-a-week/

On Friday’s broadcast of the Fox News Channel’s “America’s Newsroom,” U.S. Fleet Forces Command Commander Admiral Daryl Caudle stated that attempted penetrations of military bases by foreign nationals “is happening more and more. This is something we see probably two or three times a week, where we’re stopping these folks at the gate” in the Navy alone and the nationals come from all different nations and many times have passports and papers.

Caudle said, “This thing of our military bases getting penetrated by foreign nationals is happening more and more. This is something we see probably two or three times a week, where we’re stopping these folks at the gate.”

Co-host Bill Hemmer then cut in to say, “A week?”

Caudle responded, “A week, at least. And this is just Navy alone, where we’re seeing folks trying to come in.”

Caudle added, “A lot of times they have passports, they have papers, yes. But they’re in no way, shape, or form authorized to be on our base, and it’s really hard for us to tell the underlying motive for these type of cases.”

Caudle further stated, “This is Russian, Chinese. This comes from all these different nations. We’re seeing an uptick in it.”

Army special operations officer under investigation after shooting

The soldier shot and killed Ramzan Daraev outside the former's home in Carthage, North Carolina on May 3.

BY NICHOLAS SLAYTON
PUBLISHED MAY 26, 2024 4:50 PM EDT

An Army special operations officer is under investigation after fatally shooting a utility worker outside the soldier’s home near Fort Liberty.

The news comes this week after the Moore County Sheriff’s Department shared more information about a May 3 shooting in Carthage, North Carolina, roughly 35 miles west of the U.S. Army base. Deputies were sent to a private residence at 8:15 p.m. that night, following a 911 call of a man trespassing on the residence. The man “became aggressive,” the caller said. When deputies arrived they found Ramzan Daraev, 35, shot dead. The shooter is an Army officer who resided at the home.

According to authorities, Daraev was reported to be working for Utilities One, a New Jersey-based utilities company, as a subcontractor and lived in Chicago, Illinois. The 911 call said that Daraev had been taking photos of the house.

“Identification was not found on Daraev; however, his identity was later confirmed through family members and an international identification located in his vehicle,” the sheriff’s office May 22 update said.

The soldier, who local media has confirmed is an officer serving as a part of U.S. Army Special Operations Command, has not been charged with any crime as of press time. The shooting is currently under investigation. All parties are cooperating, the Moore County Sheriff’s Office said. Law enforcement is still working to confirm Daraev’s employment status with Utilities One. The Federal Bureau of Investigation provided a translator for local law enforcement to help interview other people said to work with Utilities One. Additionally, authorities contact and reported the incident to U.S. Department of Labor, Occupational Safety and Health Administration.

Details on the exact incident are unclear, including what caused the situation to escalate to a firearm being pulled and fired. The sheriff’s department said that Daraev suffered more than one gunshot wound and was found “approximately 250 yards from the roadway, along a powerline on the residential property.” According to a Change.org petition set up by Daraev’s family, he was shot four times: once in the hand, twice in the back and once in the face. The sheriff’s department noted that Daraev did not have any utilities equipment or clothing with him at the time of the shooting. Daraev was photographing work he had completed when the incident began, his family said.

Task & Purpose reached out to U.S. Army Special Operations Command and Army Criminal Investigations Division. CID acknowledged our query but has not responded with an answer as of press time.

According to the Change.org petition, Daraev is originally from Chechnya. The same post said that Daraev did not have any weapon on him and that the Army officer was released after “a short interview” with law enforcement.

“Ramzan left Russia, not realizing that the greatest injustice against him would be done in a free country, where, in theory, he should have received protection,” the family writes.
