Online source for smaller Briggs motors.
I may need to replace the motor on my White gas powered wood splitter. I am looking for a plug and play replacement. Any thoughts on sources for these motors?

Thanks guys.

You can check Northern Tool for a part number then start searching prices, sales, etc.

Jack’s is owned by Northern Tool.

There’s probably a Honda that will fit.

Tractor Supply also sells B&S engines.

Thanks guys, I will look into it. Had not thought about a Honda. Not sure if it would be plug and play.

If the engine has a number plate somewhere they should reference to the motor and various other dimensions. For example, shaft size and length and mounting lugs, etc.
Then just do a online search of that number and hopefully it will be a common specification to give you a lot of options.

Check Surplus Center, their inventory varies but they have some good stuff.

If you didn’t fixed it yet and if it’s the right size, Harbor Freight has their 6.5 HP, 212cc horizontal shaft Predator engine on sale tomorrow for $90, normally $150. If I needed that size, I’d be tempted to throw $90 at it just for fun. Over 5k reviews and 4.8 out of 5, how bad can it be?

I replaced a mower engine a while back. If I remember correctly, was from https://www.smallenginewarehouse.com
