Ohio snow plow driver sends snow into on coming traffic on I-80 damages 40 cars
The driver, if not fired, will be probably be assigned to weedwhacker duty come summer. Lucky no one died.

"The Ohio Turnpike is managed by an independent company, not the Ohio Department of Transportation, and one of the plow trucks employed by the highway was seen on the video traveling the same speed as surrounding cars, around 70 mph, as it cleared snow from the road.
Because the snowplow was traveling at such a high speed, the snow was thrown to the other side of the highway, landing on cars driving in the opposite direction."
Hooboy, I bet that company's insurance account is going to be smoking by the end of this. 40+ seriously damaged vehicles, with some personal injuries to boot.

Not unusual sadly. Do not have that problem where I live. Uncovered gravel trucks fly down the interstate cracking windshields. Their license plate is covered in mud year round. Lucky they had video on this guy.

Why would the plow be kicking snow out the left side. I have never seen that ever. All the ones I have ever seen kick out everything to the right. They start in the fast lane and work their way to the slow lane always throwing everything to the right until it’s all in the ditch.

In the US of Air Force, the plows were run on the runways and taxiways at similar high speeds, but they ran echelon, three plows and all blades tossing the same direction. Could clear a runway in a single pass.
The same thing could have been done to pitch all the ice/snow off to the right and cleared the inside emergency to the left side emergency.
Having a lead vehicle spotting and advising the plows of any obstructions (vehicles or such) so they can avoid, and a rear vehicle (s) lane spitting with flashing lights and sign, the plows could run at highway speeds and not impede traffic flow.
No way to convince me that the driver was unaware of what he was doing.

The plow was using his belly blade. There was not a front plow on the truck. He should have been going much slower to push the snow up against the median instead of over.

Intentional or, incompetent.
Waay too fast to be plowing on that side of the road and tossing it over into oncoming traffic...you'd think that guy was under the influence or, was looking to get fired.

Well, it's Ohio. City I live outside of is basically broke so if they plow is a better question. I would imagine his plowing days are over.
I'd rather be hated for who I am than loved for who I'm not.

I dont see how the driver could not see that going on. As a former Buckeye, I avoided the OH TP like the plague. It may be privately managed, but that did not stop OSP from pinching folks for speeding on it.

Yoop, I got stopped on the Turnpike more than a few times. Winter was usually good and it was plowed good. Summertime was construction and orange barrels as far as the eyes could see.

Old joke we used to tell: Q- What did the OSP Trooper say to his Mother? A- Can I see your license and registration?

70 mph in those conditions? This is why the movies I saw in high school were courtesy of the State of Ohio.
