Wow! She couldn’t even take the time to learn the language. Should have found an ex-pat community where they could hang out with others like themselves.

Their case may be different cause they are not celebrities.

Taylor Swift says she won’t perform in red states. Should we start a pool on how many days before she walks that back?

Posturing little brat. Someone should show her the electoral map and all the red in it…

Maybe the red states would need to notice her absence first.

Doesn't she live in a red state? (Nashville, TN?)

Painting a picture there...

The fact that she struggled to pick up the language — Ed has learned some French since they’ve been living there — didn’t help matters.

“I have been so busy packing, unpacking, assembling furniture etc. that I haven’t really found time to hunker down and start (learning French),” she admits. “It was always on my list but (I) just couldn’t find the time.”

Move to a foreign country, eschew learning the language in favor of moving furniture for three months. Okay.

Uh-huh...

^^^^ Probably the French view that couple as "Ugly Americans" who come in as tourists or immigrants and demand France (or other European country) kowtow to their wants, not willing to blend in. In this case, probably bragging about how California is so wonderful and superior.

Those fools go into another's home (or country) and complain incessantly about how it is there in their homeland.

I'd be insulted too and refuse to accommodate or even talk to those arrogant fools.

Narcissists maybe???

In the book that coined the term, “ugly American” referred to something completely different than how it was later interpreted as someone who goes to a foreign county with no regard for local customs, etc.

It was published some 60+ years ago, but in thinking back to when I read it not long after, it still has relevance today.

I'll bet and I had to LOL as they tried to find a doctor in France's socialized medical system. I thought libs always talked up how wonderful Europe is when it comes to that?

I remember seeing an episode of House Hunters International and this young clueless chick from Texas going to live in Germany kept complaining about how small every apartment was and how everything back in Texas was so much bigger and better and the poor German realtor was really trying to keep her cool and kept telling her that A. This isn't Texas and B. What I'm showing you is actually considered quite large for a single person in Germany. The epitome of an Ugly American Roll Eyes

Then she won’t be playing much at all then. Just the major cities that went blue. Take your ass to Europe then. You can live out the remainder of your life there. At least you’ll be off the Chiefs NFL game broadcasts. GTFO, renounce your citizenship too you ungrateful bitch.

I have several friends yammering on about leaving the country and being an ex pat. Now these aren’t libtards at all. They try to convince me to do the same and I tell them fuck that. Are you a got damn American? I’m not leaving the country I love. Why would I? They banter Costa Rica, Mexico (Baja and such), etc and my response is those places are 3rd world shit holes and the locals will never fully accept you. The US has the strongest military in the world. You make all your money, your career, etc, in the USA, and you want to bail from it and put your money into another country, all while drawing social security? SMH.

Frank Slaughtery was a character in 25th hour, the film. He has a high rise apartment in a building right next to the WTC that was demolished from the La La La’s. Phillip Seymour Hoffman’s character asks Frank “you ever think about moving?” His response is what I use, hell no, they can fly another plane in this mother fucker, I ain’t leaving. Love that line. I’ll never understand these fucking celebrities, athletes, media people, whatever, who make their fortunes in the USA, enjoy the freedom our soldiers gave their life for, then when something happens, especially elections, where they lose, they act like spoiled fucking bitches and yell they are going to leave. Good, get the fuck out. We don’t want you here. I can and have separated your film work from your politics but you need to quit using interviews, and your media presence to yell about this shit.

What am I doing? I'm talking to an empty telephone

If I could afford it, I might like to have a vacation home in another country. It would have to be somewhere that is politically and socially conservative, predominately Christian, respects gun rights, has low taxes, respects rule of law, and where English is the primary language. Off the top of my head.

But where...

Where...

Maybe Wyoming or Oklahoma.

Given the obscene tax burden the U.S. now imposes, making plans for life in other jurisdictions is prudent.

DJT’s victory didn’t get rid of the Communists, yet.

I hope he does. I think there’s a good chance he does - and I still intend to spend much of the rest of my working life securing overseas assets for my children, in the event they ever have to flee.

The rest of the world learned to spread assets around the globe, after the NAZIs and the Communists.

That article about the San Francisco woman in France...what a self-absorbed loser. Neber learned the language, expected everyone to accommodate her, and couldn't grasp the concept that you moved here BECAUSE it's different than where you came from. When we lived in Europe we knew people like that. Her problems were entirely of her own making and lack of perspective. People like that aren't happy anywhere.

It's also endemic in the libtards who move to other places to get away from the high taxes and failed policies in their home state, and then vote for the same stupid policies that they were trying to get away from.

Excuse me, but what???

There is no better place in the entire world than right here in the USA.

Why would your children have to flee given what just happened? The tide is turning back to normalcy and that's only going to continue.

^^^ Anything that would destroy the United States, be it economic or social collapse, world war or whatever, will screw up most of the rest of the world. Those places left untouched are places you wouldn't want to go anyway. Might as well stay, because there is no better place.
