jcsabolt2Prices Ticking Up in Your Area?
I've been home the past several days due to surgery I had and decided to get out of the house today for a few hours and pick up some medical supplies and other stuff. Stopped in a few sporting good stores and noticed that prices on ammo and ammo cans have ticked up a dollar or two compared Christmas time. However, I did see some pretty good prices on firearms here and there. Just curious as to what you are seeing in your neck of the woods.
BTW..gasoline in our area is well below $2/gal and diesel sub $2.60/gal.

kkinaMain driver would be the Federal Reserve Board successively lowering interest rates over the past year or so. It usually takes 12-18 months for a rate change to trickle down to the general economy, so the timing is about spot-on. I would expect inflation to continue to tick upwards for a while.

ScurvyWal-Mart stopping ammo sales removes the biggest factor in ammo prices staying low. Local stores no longer have to try and compete with their prices.

Of course they have. They couldn't give it away the past 3 years so now they will capitalize again on a panic to sell it.

grumpy1Yes I have noticed some increases in ammo prices at online sellers like SGAmmo and TargetsportsUSA fairly recently. Speer Lawman and Federal American Eagle 50 round boxes of 9MM up 50 cents to a dollar a box. Also have noticed a lot more out of stocks than usual and taking longer to get back in stock. Prices and stock conditions are still relatively good, for now but anyone who thinks their ammo position is on the low side should not wait too much longer to buffer their inventory IMO. I got a case of S&B 124 gr 9MM coming tomorrow that I was able to get at SGAmmo for $163.80 plus $16 shipping. I got a text alert that is was back in stock and it was out of stock again a few hours later.
OP. You might want to edit your title per forum rules to reflect discussion about ammo prices.

Joe123Ammo prices seem to be as low as ever. 20% off all 556 and 223 sale at Bi-Mart (local discount store) now. I thought I could stop buying, but at these prices (.26 a round) its hard.

The Saudis and the Russians are having a price war. Saudi Arabia is getting ready to flood the market with oil.
Combined with reduced demand due to coronavirus and we may see some serious price drops by summer.
